Thanks so much

Happy Monday to you!!! Here's what I came up with today based upon the Mojo sketch pictured below! I'm not really sure how I feel about what I came up with today, but I guess I'm over it! hahaha! =)
The colors I chose were based upon the challege at the Color Throwdown! I used Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and Kraft! I left out the So Saffron and swaped out Baja Breeze for Old Olive! I'm still SO thrilled Baja Breeze is coming back and will be available in the new catalog that comes out July 1st!!!
Pocket Silhouettes is my second favorite Stampin' Up! set! I stamped the stems fromt that set in Baja Breeze ink then the sentiment is stamped in Kiwi Kiss ink and punched out with the Word Window punch!

Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes (111672)
Ink: Baja Breeze (July 1st), Kiwi Kiss (Retired)
Card Stock: Baja Breeze (July 1st), Kiwi Kiss (Retired), Whisper White (100730), Kraft (102125)

A Sketch, Some Color and Viola - A Merci Card

Sketches are my favorite! The challenge this week at Just Add Ink is a card layout that I thought was just too cool! The layout appears square, but I made mine the standard A2 size and paired the Cottage Wall DSP with the Chic Boutique Stamp set!
Wouldn't you know it - the color challenge at the Color Throwdown was a perfect blend of Barely Banana, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, and Pale Plum! The Cottage Wall DSP just went along perfectly with this challenge! Old Olive is one of my favorite Stampin' Up! greens - it's just the perfect shade and looks great with everything!
Speaking of colors, Barely Banana and Pale Plum are both retiring! Stock up now on these great colors and accessories to match - including the Cottage Wall DSP!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:

Use separately or together to create awesome accents to your projects! Each sell for $15.95 each and may or may not be in the next catalog! With the new punch design - who knows!!!
  • This chic card definitely needed some bling and I found the perfect jewel! The Circle Fire Rhinestone brads! Package includes approximately 80 brads, 4 colors, and 3 sizes! I used the largest size in the center of the Filigree Brad. Package sells for $10.95 and maybe retiring in June!

Basically So Tangerine for PPA Card Sketch

Good Morning! It's another FABULOUS sketch challenge at the PPA! Love the row of three squares! This element is so fun because there is so much you can do with it! Here's my take on the sketch:

My color choices were inspired by the challenge at the Color Throwdown! We were to use Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, and Basic Gray! Of course I threw in Whisper White as well! I combined a couple of my favorite Stampin' Up! stamp sets: Pocket Silhouettes (111672) and Gratuitous Graffiti (111636) Background stamp!
Guess what else??? My card has a HUGE sneak peek from the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog which becomes available to customers May 1st! Can you guess what it is? Okay, I can't wait to tell you, it's the NEW Square Lattice Textured Impressions Folder! Isn't it gorgeous!?! Honestly, once I ran this through my Big Shot, I wasn't sure which side was the 'right' one side they both looked beautiful. So I just chose which one I liked the look of best!

Good Morning! Today's card is another Sale-A-Bration inspiration to get your shopping mojo going! I used my FAVORITE punch for a scallop border on this layout! My card also used some of my FAVORITE colors from the Color Throwdown challenge to use Baja Breeze (Retired), Garden Green, and Certainly Celery! Greens & Blues are just my favorite color combinations! I'm definitely a 'cool' color girl on the color wheel! ;)

This card sketch from the Sweet Stop is just that - Sweet! I really got excited about the layers and different looks you could get with this layout, but I tried to keep plenty of white space to balance things out and keep it clean & 'simple'! Hahaha!

Clean and Simple Thursday

Happy Thursday everyone! Hope you had a great day! Here's my card I made based upon the Taylored Expressions sketch! I kept my card clean & simple - but the color combination was too die for! Loved both of these challenges this week!
The Color Throwdown blog has a color challenge this week to use: Taken with Teal, Black, Soft Sky, and Tangerine Tango! I swaped out Baja Breeze for Soft Sky but overall I think this combination is totally great!
I'm keeping my post simple today since I just got home from work and need to run to High School group with the kiddos! So until next time, I hope you enjoyed today's card and make sure and put your guess in for my Blog Candy! The more guesses the merrier!

Sweet Pea baby card

Howdy stampers! Here's my take on Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch! Look at all those rows!! Hehe! I was a little scared to try my hand at this one, but I warmed up to it and I hope you like how my card turned out!!! ;)

My colors were inspired by The Color Throwdown and another beautiful color combination of: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, and old Olive!!! I thought these would be perfect for a baby card and to use my new Fox & Friends Clear Mount stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog!!! The Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog posted a challenge of New Beginnings so I entered my new baby card in that challenge as well!!!
Stampin' Essentials Tips:

  • The Fox & Friends Stamp set comes in a set of 7, featuring some super cute little critters! I chose the giraffe and stamped him in Chocolate Chip Ink, then colored in the polka dots with Pretty Ink Pink ink using my blender pen! This set is on page 31 of the Occasions Mini catalog!
  • My Sweet Pea sentiment also comes from a stamp set in the Occasions Mini Catalog! The set is called Little Angel and features 4 super sweet sentiments perfect for baby cards, announcements, and scrapbook pages! My set is in the Clear Mount format and was only $9.95!!! What an awesome deal!
  • The rows of DSP were cut to 3-3/4" x 1" and matted on Chocolate Chip card stock. I inked the edges of all the papers in Chocolate Chip ink for a distressed look! These papers were also from the Occasions Mini Catalog! It's the Sweet Pea DSP STACK!! Comes with {48} sheets total: 2 each of 24 double-sided designs. 12" x 12"
  • My Old Olive strip of card stock down the center of my card was cut to 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" and ran through my Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder on page 35 of the Occasions Mini Catalog! Probably my favorite textured folder SU offers - love the dots plus the impression is deep and the folder can cover an entire card front!!!

Small Wonder - Whimsical Words SAB set!

I totally love this sketch from post at the Clean & Simple Stamping blog! It's just so great and I thought it'd work well for a baby card! The colors worked so beautifully together as well! This is another great combo from the Color Throwdown blog! I love Baja Breeze!

If you were wondering what size blocks I used, I punched out small pieces of DSP with my 3/4" square punch (retired) and layered them on 1" square pieces of Kraft card stock! I inked the edges of each square (so they'd show up on my Kraft card base) and the card with Sahara Sand ink! I stamped the Medallion background stamp in the corner also in Sahara Sand ink along with my sentiment from the Whimsical Words stamp set - a FREEBIE during SAB! My finished card size is the standard A2 (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") and is scored at the top.
I also entered this in the Flutter By blog, since my card has some pretty cute butterflies on it! My new, Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings Embosslits die (118138) was on back order, and just as I sat down to make this card, the UPS man knocked on the door with my package and die in hand! So I just had to use it and oh what fun it was! It cuts and embosses 5 different shaped butterflies on one die! It's so great! This is a new Stampin' Up! Big Shot die that is featured on page 24 of the new Occasions Mini Catalog! Four of the five butterflies that this die creates are featured on my card!
Stamps: Medallion (115223), Whimsical Words (118386 - SAB)
Ink: Sahara Sand (105208)
Card Stock: Kraft (102125)
Paper: Thoroughly Modern (115673), Urban Garden (Retired), Sweet Pea (117161)
Embellishments: Whisper White Taffeta (109070), Linen Thread (104199)
Tools: Big Shot Die Cut Machine (113439), Beautiful Wings (118138)
Stampin' Essentials: Stampin' Dimensionals (104430), Mini Glue Dots (103683)

Stay tuned, tomorrow there will be some BLOG CANDY for all those who become Followers of my blog!!!!!
Have a terrific Thursday,

Happy Moments! New SAB set!

The Color Throwdown blog did it again - another BEAUTIFUL color challenge! Baja Breeze and Certainly Celery two of my favorite SU colors, paired with Elegant Eggplant - it's just too much fun!
I wanted to share with you my Happy Birthday card that I made for the CTD color challenge and the Stampin' Royalty sketch challenge! I stamped my little bird cage from the Happy Moments SAB stamp set in Elegant Eggplant ink - then colored in the frame of the cage with Certainly Celery Ink and blender pens! I changed around a few things on the sketch - I tied my ribbon at the top instead! I wanted to keep this card simple since I honestly think the colors are just so pretty together as is!

It's so sad Baja Breeze retired last year! Anytime there are color challenges that use this wonderful shade of blue - I'm so thrilled to get my old supplies out and play along! The patterned paper I used is also retired, it's the Urban Garden DSP! But some fun news is that I did get try the new SU punch format (click here for more information) and the new Scallop Trim Border Punch, which you can get for FREE with a $50 order! The new punches are so great and easy to store! This is great for all of you that love organization!

The Happiest Business in the World!

I don't know who Anne S. Eaton is, but I REALLY like this quote! The happiest business in the world is that of making FRIENDS! I love it! This stamp is from the Stampin' Up! Friends 24-7 set (it's on page 100 of the IBC - in case you wanted to check it out)! It is quickly becoming one of my favorite stamp sets! So I had to use it on a couple challenges I played along with! The Color Throwdown blog had a great color challenge of Old Olive, So Saffron, and Melon Mambo! I just used a hint of Melon Mambo - it's on the 24-7 (attached with a library clip!).
The card sketch layout I used was posted at the Sweet Stop blog! Their sketch challenge had a spin and that was to use a sentiment as the main focal point!
Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • Distressing was a fun part of making this card! I crumpled up the Old Olive DSP and the Very Vanilla card stock - even tearing it a bit to achieve the distressed look!
  • I stamped the fleur-dis-le in So Saffron ink, off to the side. Then stamped my sentiment in Old Olive ink in the center!
  • My three little silver brads in the corner were lined up just so with my Mat Pack and Paper-piercing tool! The template is the best and I use it all the time!
  • I attached my big green button with glue dots and tied my bow with Linen Thread - it almost looks like a sew, right!?!

Stamps: Friends 24-7 (113218)

Your friendship!

WOW! Do you love this color challenge from the Color Throwdown blog or what? I thought it was a fantastic combo of SU colors and I had so much creating a card with these three colors along with Whisper White for my neutral!

This was my first time playing along at Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge and this was a great card layout! My scallop border on the left hand side came from the SU Princess Party Kit! So easy! It was already scalloped and with the polka-dots, I just had to add it to my card! Of course it was also the perfect color: Regal Rose to go along with the color challenge!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:

With my layered flower as the focal point, my sentiment ended up in the corner! I used the images from the Hostess Level 2 set, Wings of Friendship and stamped the swirls in Regal Rose ink in the corner first. Then with my stamp-a-ma-jig, I lined up the sentiment next to it. I thought about stamping the sentiment on top of the swirls, but decided against it since I wanted to be able to see both images clearly since I like them both so much! To add a little brown to the swirls, I stamped the flower in the middle of it adding a brad to the middle of it! To frame the card in, I used the Mat Pack and Paper-Piercing tool to add a corner border! My favorite part of the card is the looped Chocolate Chip border! It's so easy but such a cute way to add dimension! What I did was take a long, thin piece of cardstock, distress it with my bone folder. Then add a piece of Sticky Strip behind it and then 'loop' the card stock on top of itself in small loops! So fun!

The Wings of Friendship set can be earned for FREE with any personal or workshop order of $300 or more! You can totally place an order on-line from my SU website, or email me anytime! Not only do you get a FREE stamp set for EVERY $50 order, if the order does reach $300, you get your choice of {7} free SAB stamp sets, paper pack, or punches! Such an awesome deal!

Three in One....a challenge Monday!

It seems like it's been weeks since I've been able to play along with the online challenges! I've missed the last two MoJo Monday sketches, but this week I DID IT! Yippee! This week at the Mojo Monday Blog, I made a card based upon the sketch below! I love that it's simple and can easily be used for a Christmas card or for ANY occasion!
So my color choices came from the Color Throwdown blog and their color challenge #73! I haven't played along with their color challenges in a few weeks so I was thrilled to join in on all the fun they have! This week's challenge was to use: Kiwi Kiss, Real Red, Always Artichoke, and Cool Caribbean and since I didn't have a few of the colors, I 'cheated' just a little bit!! I substituted Old Olive for Kiwi Kiss and Garden Green for Always Artichoke!
My winter/Christmas theme came from the Snow or Snowflake challenge posted on the Our Creative Corner blog! Christmas is only a few days away, so I hope you enjoy this joyous holiday season!
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370)
Ink: Real Red (103133)
Card Stock: Old Olive (100702), Chocolate Chip (102128), Real Red (102482), Very Vanilla (101650), Garden Green (102584)

CTD68 - Color Challenge: Thank You Card!

The Color Throwdown blog posted this awesome color challenge using the Stampin' Up! colors: Real Red, Only Orange, Crushed Curry, and a dark neutral color. For my card, I chose to use Basic Black as my dark neutral and follow the layout of a great sketch! Being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator definitely has amazing benefits! One of which is receiving the monthly Stampin' Success magazine in my mailbox, filled with ideas, information, new techniques, and of course great sketches! I used the one, featured below which was found on page 30 of the November 2009 issue! At first glance, I thought the layout was a little busy - but with the bright colors from the color challenge, I thought they would work well together! What do you think? I always love reading your comments and feedback - so please leave a message if you want!!
I moved things around a little bit from the sketch, but overall, I tried to stick with where things were on the original card layout! The most fun I had was using the Very Thankful stamp set (page 209)! Stampin' Up! designs an exclusive stamp set every year to help raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). When you purchase the Very Thankful set, (it's only $14.95 - and totally cute) Stampin' Up! will donate $2 to the RMHC! I love making a difference and purchasing this stamp set, was a fun way to do that! Plus, the bird and font of the sentiment on this stamp are so elegant - I love it! I stamped the little birdie with Real Red ink on Whisper White card stock, then punched it out using a 1-3/4" Circle Punch! Layered it on a Basic Black scallop Circle cut from the Scallop Circles #2 die for my Big Shot machine, and viola!

CTD67 ~ Joy

The Color Throwdown blog posted this great color challenge using the following Stampin' Up! Colors: Soft Sky (retired), Dusty Durango, Always Artichoke, and Kraft. I improvised a little with my color scheme and used: Dusty Durango, Always Artichoke, and Sahara Sand, it's a fun twist on Christmas colors! So I just purchased the Delightful Decorations set from the Holiday Mini Catalog along with the coordinating Ornament Punch, a must have in my opinion! Oh my - these are so fun to play with! The striped background paper is actually a Level 1 Hostess gift! It's the Patterns Pack Designer Series Paper III and I used the Really Rust color! I thought it coordinated nicely with the Dusty Durango for a monochromatic look! You too can earn this paper pack for FREE with a hostess or personal order of $150 or more! To find out more about how to place an order, please email me!

Best Wishes ~ CTD64

I was so thrilled when the Color Throwdown crew posted this awesome color challenge using my favorite color combination of all time: Baja Breeze, Basic Black, and Sahara Sand! My home's interior paint colors, decorations, and even my wardrobe are primarily in these three wonderful colors! This will be my first time playing along with this great group of stampers, and I'm looking foward to participating in more of their upcoming challenges! Sadly, Baja Breeze retired from the Stampin' Up! Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog, but it is still one of my favorite colors and I do hope they bring it back some day! To make this card, I followed the amazing, step-by-step directions posted on the Splitcoaststampers website, this card took me less than a half hour to create!
