Hello card for 300 Mojo Monday Card Sketches

Happy 300 sketches to Mojo Monday!  I loved these card sketches and have been playing along with this blog for years now.  I truly love the challenge each week to create using a Mojo sketch and this week is no exception.  Here's what I came up with using this week's sketch layout.  It's a simple Hello card!  What I love most about it is the Tag a Bag Accessories I used to create this!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • I used the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit by Stampin' Up! as quick and easy elements for my card!  The kit comes with 10 Large Base tags and I used the Tangerine Tango one on my card as well as the Bermuda Bay Builder Tag
  • My Hello sentiment is from the June My Paper Pumpkin Card Kit.  The full image says 'Hello to You' but I inked up just the Hello using my Coastal Cabana ink pad!
  • The Open Sea stamp set isn't just for masculine cards.  I used the old map background image and stamped it on the Calypso Coral 2-1/2" Circle for a fun accent rather than just a plain old circle!

Stampin' Supply List:

Stamps:  The Open Sea (123032), Hello is from the June My Paper Pumpkin Kit
Ink:  Calypso Coral (126983), Coastal Cabana (131175)
Card Stock:  Whisper White (100730), Calypso Coral (122925)
Paper:  This and That Epic Day DSP (130814)
Tools:  3/16" Corner Rounder (119871), 2-1/2" Circle Punch 120906), 1" Square Punch (124094)
Embellishments:  Tag a Bag Accessory Kit (130153), In Color Boutique Details (130938)
Finished Size:  4-1/4" x 5-1/2"

(I used the This & That Epic Day DSP on my card today)

Hope you have a Wonderful Wednesday,

1,600 Birthday Cards for Jacob Mockbee

Giving cards is what we do as paper crafters and I love it!  I heard about this special story through my friend and fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in Arizona.  Parents of Jacob Mockbee are hoping to collect 1,600 cards for Jacob's 16th birthday this Sunday, June 16th.  Doctors told them he wouldn't live past a year, and here he is 16 years later!  To celebrate, we're sending him birthday cards, his wish for his birthday is to get 1,600 cards.  Please feel free to participate and send him a card.  I know Jacob and the family will love it!

CLICK HERE to view news article of his story brief video!
CLICK HERE to see the Facebook Page the family made for him!

Here's the address to send cards to:
Jacob Mockbee
8987 E. Tanque Verde #309-104
Tucson, AZ  85749-9399

Stories like this always make me cry and want to help.  Miracles happen all the time and it's special to be able to be a part of making someone's dream come true!  Here's the card I created for Jacob's 16th Birthday and will pop this in the mail ASAP!  I used the Mojo Monday 297 Sketch and it was the perfect inspiration to jump start my crafting!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • Paper Snips!  Essential for trimming out both pairs of spectacles!  After stamping them in Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit, I quickly trimmed them out and adhered them with Stampin' Dimensionals!
  • The Happy Birthday Photopolymer stamp is the image that comes in the Dolled-Up Birthday card kit!  It coordinates perfectly with the Spec-Tacular stamp.

  • My Scallop border is from the Petite Curly Label Punch!  I punched several out of the Summer Starfruit card stock, cut them in half and adhered them to the bottom of the Midnight Muse card stock!

Love sunglasses and spectacles!?!  Perfect for summer, this Spec-Tacular single stamp by Stampin' Up! is certainly a must have!  Available through July 31st in my online store, its a steal of a deal at $7.95.  Clear-Mount only.  Item number to add to your shopping cart:  132673

Masculine Birthday card with a MOJO Monday Sketch

My dad's birthday is at the end of June and so I made this card for him.  We live on the ocean here in Anacortes, WA and he loves boats, shrimping, crabbing, and fishing so I think he'll like the images on this card!  The layout is based upon this week's MOJO 296 Sketch.  It was the perfect inspiration for what I needed to help me create this card.  The circles in the card layout coincided excellently with the images in The Open Sea stamp set.

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • I stamped the ship in Midnight Muse ink on Whisper White card stock, then punched it out with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch
  • The anchor image was randomly stamped repeatedly in Crumb Cake ink below the ship.  I tied Linen Thread around the side of that strip of card stock rather than the three brads like the layout had.

  • The By The Tide Stamp set has this cute Nantucket Oceanside Inn image with the anchor and I just love it.  Especially because there is a Nantucket Inn here in Anacortes, WA where we live!  It perfectly coordinates and fits with the 1" Circle Punch.  It's stamped in Midnight Muse ink on Very Vanilla card stock.

Stamps:  The Open Sea (123032), By the Tide (129120)
Ink:  Midnight Muse (126860), Crumb Cake (126975)
Paper:  Midnight Muse (126843), Marina Mist (119682), Crumb Cake (120953), Whisper White (100730), Very Vanilla (115318)
Tools:  2-1/2" Circle Punch (120906), 1" Circle Punch (119868)
Embellishments:  Linen Thread (104199)
Finished Size:  4-1/4" x 5-1/2"

Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #17

It's Thursday!!! Thanks to everyone that joined us last week at the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge! We're so glad you play along and enjoy these challenges with each each week! This week is a super cute inspiration challenge and I just love those cupcake toppers! Handcrafted party decor is totally in right now so it's fun to see this carry over into our challenges! My friend Mindy just asked me to create some more cupcake toppers for an upcoming friend's baby shower, so I'll make sure and share those with you! CLICK HERE to see photos from Mindy's daughter's birthday party and the cupcake toppers I made for her!
I needed a 'thank you' card to send to my friend Regina! She had me over last weekend for a crafting day and we had SO much fun! Here's what I came up with for this week:
Stampin' Essentials Tips:

  • My card layout is based upon this week's MoJo Monday sketch! I just love the simplicity of the design and the four square pattern! My Squares are 2" x 2" and cut from Marina Mist card stock!
  • Hello BLING!!! Oh yes, I love the NEW Stampin' Up! Rhinestone Jewels (119246)! They are 1/2 back, and include 150 pieces per package! 50 each in 3 different sizes! But the best part is that they are SELF-ADHESIVE! Check them out on page 188 of the Idea Book & Catalog! There is also Pearls Jewels (119247). These beauties are a steal for only $4.95 per package!!!
  • No stamps or ink were used on this card!!! Can you believe it!?! The embossed 'Thanks' sentiment is from the 'THANKS' Embosslit die (115957) on page 215 of the Idea Book & Catalog! I ran the die through my Big Shot (113439) with Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso card stock. Then trimmed out just the 'THANKS' with my Paper Snips (103579) and layered it on top of the Early Espresso die-cut!

Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #15

Happy Thursday to you! We have another fun Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge for you this week! This challenge really reminded me of the first few weeks of school so I focused on a few of my favorite Primary Colors - Red, Green, and Blue! I hope you'll come out and join us this week and play along!
My friend Susan gave me some super cute DSP that was just perfect for this challenge so I used it this week (it's not SU paper - but I love it)! Here's what I came up with:

My card layout is based upon this week's Mojo Monday sketch! It seems likes its been weeks since I've played along with the Mojo challenge, but this week I really liked the layout and thought it worked well with the SCIC!
Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • I LOVE the New Apple Blossoms Level 2 Stamp set (120139)! It's so versatile and cute! It's probably one of my favorites from the New Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog! The images are adorable and the fonts of the sentiments are just SO cute! You can earn this set for FREE with a $300 workshop and/or catalog party! There's still time to book a workshop in August and earn $25 EXTRA Hostess Dollars! CLICK HERE to learn more!
  • My 'A Note of Thanks' sentiment is from the Thank You Kindly Stamp Set (111700) on page 158 of the SU Idea Book & Catalog! If you don't have your copy of the IBC, Email Me and I'll mail one to you! Catalogs cost $9.95 + $4.90 shipping and include a Definitevly Decorative Brochure, Wish List, Summer Mini Catalog, PLUS you'll be added to my mailing list and will receive all future Mini Catalogs this year! I always enjoy giving gifts to my customers, so you'll get a fun little gift from me too!
  • To create the large scallop border, I used the Fancy Flower Punch (118073). I punched out two flowers from the Baja Breeze card stock, then pieced them together to create a scallop! You can CLICK HERE to read my original blog post with a step-by-step tutorial of this technique!

Mojo Monday Greenhouse Gala Birthday Card

Happy Monday to you! It feels like it's been weeks since I've played along with the Mojo Monday sketch challenge, but today I had time and so I wanted to share what I created based upon the sketch below! My card features many of the new products found in the Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog (122202) ! If you'd like to order a copy, please feel free to Email Me and I'll mail one to you! Or CLICK HERE to download the PDF and view On-Line!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • The Greenhouse Gala DSP found on page 173 in the IBC is my favorite package of papers in the catalog! It features a beautiful color combination of Pear Pizazz, Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Baja Breeze! It also has coordinating stamp sets found in the Graphic Botanical Suite on page 98-99!
  • The Perfect Punches stamp set on page 131 is the set I used for the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment on my card! I just love this font! All the images in this NEW stamp set coordinate with the Stampin' Up! punches! I chose not to punch out my sentiment with the coordinating Wide Oval Punch, but stamped the image in Early Espresso ink on a Whisper White circle cut with the Circle Scissor Plus!
  • The Boho Blossoms Punch as a new look! Stampin' Up! updated the entire product line of punches into the new sleek, easy to use format! I'm a huge fan of the new punch design and there are NEW punches too! My favorite is the Two-Step Owl on page 201!

Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #7

We have a masculine theme for this week's Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge! With Father's Day this Sunday, we're celebrating Father's with a fun challenge! I chose to use the Stampin' Up! colors Daffodil Delight (NEW), Almost Amethyst (Retiring), and Night of Navy! I really love the look of Almost Amethyst with the Night of Navy! Super pretty! I'm giving you all a HUGE Sneak Peek to the NEW Artistic Etchings Stamp set! I used it throughout this ensemble and LOVE the vintage look you can achieve with it! Here's what I came up with!

Bitty Gift Box with Die-Cut Tag!
Vintage key image is from the NEW Artistic Etchings Stamp Set that will be in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog! This beautiful stamp set will come in either Clear Mount or Wood Mount and includes 6 stamps!
Amour Scallop Circle Bag
The Bag with Scallops Bigz XL die is on the LAST CHANCE ACCESSORIES list and will be retiring soon along with the color Almost Amethyst! Although I didn't use the die on this little bag, it was inspiration for me to create my own! Notice the NEW 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch I used to close the bag together! This is a new punch that will be in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog and will sell for $16.95! The 1-3/4" Circle Punch fits inside it perfectly!
Amour Card
My card layout was inspired by the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge this week! The layout was perfect for this set to show off the Artistic Etchings Stamp set! The texture background I used is the NEW Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions Embossing Folder! This will also be in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog and sells for $7.95!

Mojo Monday Sketch in Tangerine Tango

I'm so excited Tangerine Tango is coming back to the Stampin' Up! color line-up! Starting with the 2010-2011 Idea Book Catalog, Tangerine Tango will be in the Brights Collection! It's a wonderful shade of Orange, which was the challenge at the TPE blog to use orange! The Mojo Monday sketch was a fun one this week and here's what I came up with using the Wings of Friendship Level 2 Hostess stamp set!
The Cupcake Craft Challenges blog had a challenge to use Black, Gray, and one other color, which I chose as Tangerine Tango!
Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • The wing of my bird is patterned paper from the retired Sweet Pea Stack! I used the Two-Step Bird Punch to punch out his wing! The punch out layers perfectly over the original stamped wing! This punch is a carry over item from the Occasions Mini catalog and is still available for purchase and retails for $15.95!
  • You can earn the Wings of Friendship Hostess Level 2 stamp set for FREE with a $300 workshop and/or personal order! Email me for more information or to book a workshop! This set will only be available through June 30th!
  • To follow the sketch, I stamped the 'friendship' sentiment then punched it out using the Curly Label Punch and adhered it behind the layers of card stock and papers!

Thanks so much

Happy Monday to you!!! Here's what I came up with today based upon the Mojo sketch pictured below! I'm not really sure how I feel about what I came up with today, but I guess I'm over it! hahaha! =)
The colors I chose were based upon the challege at the Color Throwdown! I used Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and Kraft! I left out the So Saffron and swaped out Baja Breeze for Old Olive! I'm still SO thrilled Baja Breeze is coming back and will be available in the new catalog that comes out July 1st!!!
Pocket Silhouettes is my second favorite Stampin' Up! set! I stamped the stems fromt that set in Baja Breeze ink then the sentiment is stamped in Kiwi Kiss ink and punched out with the Word Window punch!

Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes (111672)
Ink: Baja Breeze (July 1st), Kiwi Kiss (Retired)
Card Stock: Baja Breeze (July 1st), Kiwi Kiss (Retired), Whisper White (100730), Kraft (102125)

KISS Technique and Mojo Monday Card Sketch

It's Monday and another wonderful sketch from the Mojo blog! For my card I made a baby card using the KISS technique for the elephant! I have more pictures and details below!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:

I was inspired by the patterns on the elephant in the Tall Tales DSP so I wanted to combine Chocolate Chip and Old Olive on the one image! The Kiss Technique is basically inking one stamp off of another! Here's how I did it:

1) I started by inking the elephant from the Animal Stories stamp set in Old Olive ink and set aside for a moment while I got the next stamp ready.

2) Then I stamped the Polka Dot patterned stamp from the For All You Do stamp set in Chocolate Chip ink

3) Then I stamped the Elephant on the Polka dot stamp (press firmly, straight down)

The end result is an Old Olive Elephant with Chocolate Chip Polka Dots! Then I stamped the Welcome, little one sentiment from the Nursery Necessities stamp set in Chocolate Chip ink below the Elephant!

To shop for Stampin' Up! products On-Line, CLICK HERE!!!

Stamps: For All You Do (115360), Animal Stories (116716), Nursery Necessities (113506)
Ink: Old Olive (102277), Chocolate Chip (100908)
Card Stock: Old Olive (100702), Chocolate Chip (102128), So Saffron (105118), Whisper White (100730)
Paper: Tall Tales: (115678), Old Olive DSP (112160)
Embellishments: Button Latte (114333), Linen Thread (104199), Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (109051)
Punches: 1-1/4" Square Punch (104400)
Tools: Paper Snips (103579)
Finished Size: 5-1/4" Square
Stampin' UPdate: the retiring colors are selling out fast! I'd suggest placing your order On-Line soon to avoid back orders! Some colors have sold out already and SU is unable to replenish their inventory since the colors are selling at a much higher rate than they anticipated!!!

Mojo Monday Sketch and Wonderful Mother Card

Mother's Day is this Sunday, May 9th and I desperately needed to create a card for my mom, Lyn! She loves greens and plants/nature so I used the Stampin' Up! Embrace Life stamp set! These images are great for coloring in with blender pens and ink pads! My layout is based upon this weeks Mojo Monday sketch!
Guess what my FIRST EVER favorite Stampin' Up! color was???? Sage Shadow! Back when I joined SU in 2004, this color was used on all my projects (haha)! Sadly, it is retiring this June along with Apricot Appeal, which is also featured on my card today! The pretty DSP on my card is called Nouveau Chic and will be retiring this June as well!
