Stampin' Celebration Challenge #3

We have a cute and tasty challenge for you at the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge this week! Don't you just love the cupcakes! I made one - out of paper of course! Here's what I came up with this week based upon the inspiration photo! I hope you join us and play along!
This 3x3 card is the perfect size to send a little love note! The sentiment is from the Well Scripted stamp set and fits perfectly inside this die-cut Whisper White tag from the Lots of Tags 4-Pack dies!
Paper cupcakes! Yum!!! Using the Scallop Circle #2 die and Chocolate Chip card stock scored every 1/4" I was able to make a 'cupcake' out of card stock! The top of the cupcake is embellished with flowers punched out using the 5-Petal Flower punch and the Boho Blossoms punch!
Die-Cut boxes are so fun and easy to make! This is the Fancy Favor box die-cut out of Elegant Eggplant Textured card stock! Before I assembled the box, I punched out the oval using the Wide Oval Punch then adhered the So Saffron Curly label around the opening!

Congratulations Card for CQC Challenge #33

Tuesdays are so fun! I love sharing with you the creations I make for the Design Team at the Colour Q! We have a blast! Here's the color challenge for this week! The colors include Summer Sun (Retiring), Kiwi Kiss (Retired), Bermuda Bay (Retiring), Soft Suede, and Whisper White! I hope you'll get your stamps out and join us!
My card this week is based upon the sketch at the Clean & Simple Stamping blog! I love this layout! It's super cute! Flowers sprinkled throughout a card layout are always great! ;)
Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • I used the Stampin' Up! Boho Blossoms punch (my favorite flower punch - I use it ALL the time) and punched out flowers in Bermuda Bay, Kiwi Kiss, and Soft Suede card stock.
  • Then I layered the flowers together and adhered them to my Whisper White card stock!
  • The centers of my flowers are yellow brads from the Circle Fire Rhinestone brads! Don't they match great!?!
  • My ribbon is from actually the Stampin' Up! Crushed Curry 1/2" Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon, but it looks so much like Summer Sun that I used it on my card!
  • I tied the ribbon in a bow, then attached a Summer Sun Corduroy button in the middle of the bow with a Mini Glue Dot!

Stampin' Celebration Challenge #2

The second challenge at Stampin' Celebration has arrived! Everyone did an amazing job last week so if you were unable to join us, I hope you do this week! We have a fun, out of this world inspiration photo for you, perfect for a boy's birthday party celebration! The Stampin' Up! Lots of Bots stamp set (115293) would be perfect for this challenge! I went with the color scheme from the photo with stars and polka dots (since I didn't have the Lots of Bots stamp set)!!!! Here's what I came up with!!!
The water bottle topper holds a Crystal Light pack and fits perfectly around the top of water bottles! I used the 1-1/4" Circle Punch and Scallop Circle Punch for the top!!!

My Happy Birthday card is based upon the card layout at Clean & Simple Stamping! With a polka dot background, lots of layers and stars, this card was super easy to put together!

I love gum!!! I quickly made this pack of gum a star by wrapping a piece of card stock around it and adding a few Only Orange stars and a silver brad! I'm SO thankful the Bold Brights aren't retired yet because they were the perfect set of colors for this challenge! I used Green Galore, Brilliant Blue, Only Orange and YoYo Yellow! All colors that will be retiring from the Stampin' Up! product line!! You may want to stock up on these beauties now!!! Click here for more details.

Gift Boxes are just so fun! This one is made with Tempting Turquoise card stock and Only Orange 'filler'. If you'd like instructions on how I made this, please click here to see a previous post from my blog! It's super ease but you'll definitely need a scoring blade and sticky strip --- the Essentials of course!! The 'a star is born' sentiment is from the Picture This Hostess Level 1 Stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog!

Mojo Monday Sketch and Wonderful Mother Card

Mother's Day is this Sunday, May 9th and I desperately needed to create a card for my mom, Lyn! She loves greens and plants/nature so I used the Stampin' Up! Embrace Life stamp set! These images are great for coloring in with blender pens and ink pads! My layout is based upon this weeks Mojo Monday sketch!
Guess what my FIRST EVER favorite Stampin' Up! color was???? Sage Shadow! Back when I joined SU in 2004, this color was used on all my projects (haha)! Sadly, it is retiring this June along with Apricot Appeal, which is also featured on my card today! The pretty DSP on my card is called Nouveau Chic and will be retiring this June as well!

Polka Dot Happy Birthday card for Taylored Expressions

Happy Thursday to you! Super excited about the card sketch challenge from Taylored Expressions this week! With a fun card size and polka dots it just seemed perfect to turn this layout into a masculine Happy Birthday card! My take on the sketch features a whimsical sentiment from the Stampin' Up! Well Scripted stamp set, Sweet Pea DSP, and Circle Designer brads!
On the back of my card I added the Flourish hand stamped by stamp with layered circles to keep with the circle theme! I also added layered circles inside my card to cover up the 'brad legs' - but it's also fun to dress up the entire card for a finished look!

For some reason I REALLY like this photo I took of the card laying down! hahahaha! The Library clip at the top features a small piece of Chocolate Chip Grosgrain ribbon tied in a knot, then adhered with a Mini Glue Dot!

Technique Tuesday: Masking and ColourQ #29

Hello! Are you ready for a BRIGHT and CHEERY color challenge at the Colour Q this week? How about some Bravo Burgundy, Tangerine Tango, Yoyo Yellow, Green Galore, and Whisper White!?! This was definitely a challenge for me since I'm not a huge fan of yellow - but I decided to use a fun technique called Masking with Stampin' Up!'s Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set! Here's a close up of the flowers - notice the different colored petals aren't overlapping!!! Read below for instructions and more photos!
Here's my card! I used the NEW Square Lattice Embossing folder that will be available May 1st in the Summer Mini Catalog! It's another Sneak Peak for you so I hope you enjoy and add this great embossing folder to your Big Shot tool collection! I layered two sheets of the Bravo Burgundy card stock together - something I've never done before, but I'm trying some new things! Although my ribbon is not Tangerine Tango - its actually Dusty Durango - I still think they match surprisingly well! My corduroy buttons aren't Yoyo Yellow - they are actually Summer Sun! These match great as well! Gotta love Stampin' Up! and coordinating monochromatic embellishments!!!

I started off with my Green Galore and Yoyo Yellow ink pads, as well as the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set and my piece of Whisper White card stock! Don't be sad - you can still order Green Galore and Yoyo Yellow!! Even though they are retiring June 30th - they're still available NOW!!!

I stamped the rose in Green Galore ink in the bottom corner - some of the image on and off the paper!

To create the 'Mask' I stamped the rose then cut it out with my paper snips! As you can see from the many colors on my 'Mask' I like this stamp set a lot for this technique!

Then I put the 'Mask' over the Green Galore rose and stamped the other flower image in Yoyo Yellow ink - some on and off the 'Mask'.

Take away the 'Mask' and I'm left with a perfectly Green Galore rose with no Yoyo Yellow flower on it - just nestled nicely beside it! I did the same with a second YoYo Yellow flower to the left of the rose. My 'Wonderful Mother' sentiment is from the Well Scripted set and stamped in Bravo Burgundy ink!

Happy Easter card!

It's time for another awesome Pals Paper Arts color challenge! LOVED these three colors together: Lavender Lace, Barely Banana, Certainly Celery and I threw in Whisper White! ;)
The Mojo Monday sketch was a super fun one to follow along with! I made mine square and the finished size ended up being 5-1/4" x 5-1/4"! But of course the circle layout is super cute as well! Using my Scallop Circle die and my Big Shot, I created the scallop circle in the center and layers with my Circle Scissor Plus! My circle sizes are 4" in Barely Banana, 3-3/4" in Certainly Celery, and 3-1/2" in Whisper White!

Stampin' Royalty, Cupcake Craft and the Fussy and Fancy blogs each had an Easter Challenge which I made this card for. As well as the Pink Elephant blog had a Pastels challenges! Oh how I love challenges!! ;)

Two-Step Stampin' is one of my favorite stamping techniques because it's easy to achieve a fun look with the outline image and the inside image! The Awash with Flowers is a super fun set to play with and it's on sale during the month of April! Hostess earn it free with a $350 workshop OR customers can purchase this set in either the Wood Mount OR Clear Mount! 4 Days Left of Sale-A-Bration 2010!!!

Happy Saturday to you! Only {4} days left in Stampin' Up!'s Sale-A-Bration promotion! I have another card to showcase today starring one of my favorite SAB sets, Happy Moments! The line art images in this set are perfect for coloring in with SU markers and/or blender pens - which is just too much fun! Plus the sentiments that come along with it are perfect for so many different occasions! Versatility in stamp sets is a HUGE bonus! My colors were inspired by the super cute challenge at the Color Dare blog! We were to use: Pretty in Pink, Green Galore and Basic Black! Of course I had to throw in Whisper White as well! ;)
My card layout was inspired by the sketch challenge at Our Creative Corner! I love the scallop edge and to achieve this on my card, I used the Stampin' Up! Extra Large Fancy Flower punch on page 10-11 of the Occasions Mini Catalog! I punched out two flowers. Then cut the 'petals' in sets of two and pieced them together in a row! Lining them up on my SU Grid Paper was a HUGE help and highly recommended! Pretty cool huh!?!

Felt Flower Happy Birthday card

Howdy! What a busy week! Well I quickly made a card based upon Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch! I love playing along with her sketches each week! Here's my take on the sketch!
The Cupcake Craft Challenges blog had a Flower Power Challenge this week, so I busted out my Felt Flowers that I've been hoarding now for several weeks and added them to my card! The Sweet Pea Stitched Felt Flowers are on page 32 of the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog! Package includes 52 pieces and come in the colors Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink, and Rose Red. They coordinate with the Sweet Pea DSP stack which I used on my card as well! I added the felt flowers to each of the flowers in the DSP and also as an accent to my sentiment! Glue dots were essential in keeping these little cuties in place!!!
