Cheer Up Buttercup with a PPA Sketch

I have another catalog Sneak Peek for you from the upcoming Stampin' Up! 2014-2015 Annual Catalog!  My card today is based off of the amazing sketch drawn up by a member of the Pals for the PPA #204 challenge!  I love being part of this amazing group of Pals, it's truly an honor to get to know them better thru our FB chats and webinar gatherings!  I simply love having Mary Fish as an upline!  It just makes me happy.

Feel free to play along with the sketch challenge or simply stop by to check out the fabulous talent in our group!  Click here to upload your creation!

So the sketch, in my opinion, is a very fun layout.  Several pieces work together to create the finished project.  In planning what I wanted to do, I knew I wanted to share with you the NEW In Colors and the new Moonlight DSP.  Those elements became what I used on the larger pieces of the sketch so that they got highlighted the most!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • My card base is the brand new color I know you'll love, Hello Honey!  It's a fabulous shade of yellow that is sophisticated and well, very charming!  You'll be seeing more of this fabulous color since it'll be around for the next 2 glorious years!
  • I haven't used my Hexagon Hive Framelit so I thought it work wonderfully with the geometric theme of the the stamp set and DSP.  I cute the Hexagon Hive Framelit out with another gorgeous In Color, Lost Lagoon!  It is my favorite of the 5 since it is a handsome shade of Blue reminiscent of Baja Breeze from a few years ago!
  • The Cheer Up Buttercup sentiment is stamped from the Geometrical stamp set found in the 2014 Occasions Catalog.  HINT!!!  This stamp set will continue to be available for purchase in the upcoming 2014-2015 Annual Catalog.  This set has been a huge hit since it's so trendy.  I'm excited to use it more and show you it's versatility in upcoming blog posts!
These products will be available for purchase June 2nd

Card Stock:  Lost Lagoon (133679), Hello, Honey (133678)
DSP:  Moonlight (133701) - this is a stack of 48 sheets sized 4-1/2" x 6-1/2"

Christmas Card for the PPA Sketch Challenge

I needed an quick and simple Christmas card to give with a gift for my neighbor and the PPA Sketch Challenge this week was the perfect layout what what I had in mind.  The Prince of Peace single stamp has been my 'Go To' for Christmas cards this year.  It's one of my favorite Christmas verses and it's so budget friendly at only $6.95.  It's not to late to order yours, CLICK HERE to get started!

Come play along with the Pals and upload your card creation using this sketch by CLICKING HERE.

The Stampin' Up! Deco Framelits are the BFF to this stamp.  Use the Big Shot and quickly cut out this stamp in no time.  I used post it notes to keep mine in place prior to cutting, but the Magnetic Platform is the Cadillac for premium cutting and precision.  Highly recommend it and hopefully Santa will have one for me in my stocking this year!  LOL!

Birthday Banner for the July Pals Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for the July Pals Blog Hop to celebrate the 2013-2015 In Colors! Are you ready to see wonderful creations made with Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana? We all love to make these projects, so we hope you enjoy viewing them.

You should have just left stop number {17} on the Pals Hop - Mikki Sarkisyan at Mikki's Creative Corner.  I'm stop {18} on the hop, so you're in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.  Here's what I came up with this month using the New In Colors!

I love making banners with punches, especially for birthday cards!  My card today features a little variation on the New Artisan Label Punch.  I layered several punched images to create my birthday banner - the Artisan Label Punch, 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch and the Bitty Butterfly Punch.  Stampin' Dimensionals add some depth to each element on each pennant!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • My sentiment comes from the Perfectly Penned Stamp set.  A little bling dots the { i } for an added touch!
  • The Epic Day This and That DSP has notebook paper that's just perfect for the backdrop of my card.  I love the numbers at the top - perfect for birthdays!

  • To create my banner, I started by punching out three pieces of card stock using the Artisan Label Punch

  • Then using my Paper Snips, I trimmed away the sides (at an angle) to create a banner.
  • Rather than string my banner with twine or ribbon, I simply added Rhinestone Jewels where each connected!  But you could easily punch holes and hang your banner on your creations!

Stamps:  Perfectly Penned Clear-Mount (122892)
Ink:  Strawberry Slush (131178)
Paper:  Epic Day This and That DSP (130814)
Card Stock:  Whisper White (100730), In Color Assortment (131200)
Embellishments:  In Color Boutique Details (130938), Rhinestone Jewels (119246), Victoria Crochet Trim (118481)
Tools:  Artisan Label Punch (130920), 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch (129404), Bitty Butterfly Punch (129406)
Finished Size:  4-1/4" x 5-1/2"

Celebrate the 4th with Red, White & Blue

Happy 4th of July!  This is my 2nd favorite holiday (#1 is Christmas!!).  It's such a fun celebration with festive colors and freedom that rings throughout the parties and BBQ's.  The weather is usually gorgeous here is the Pacific NW and  it's the best kick off to summer.  Of course the fireworks are fun too!  Here's my card I made for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge!

The group of demonstrators I'm a part of, The Pals, has a perfect patriotic color challenge for you to use Pacific Point, Real Red, and Crumb Cake.  I hope you are able to play along with us and get out your favorite supplies and join our group talented stampers!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • I love Chevron patterns, so I stamped the Oval from the Oh, Hello stamp set, then punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch.  See the pictures below for a little more detail!

  • The Label became my focal point for the center of my card!  It was the back drop for my sentiment which reads, 'You are the seed that decides the harvest around you.'  This is from the Harvest Blessings stamp set!

  • To follow the card challenge to use Pacific Point, I had to improvise and use Island Indigo since I was out of Pacific Point card stock!  (OOoops!)  But I think the shades of blue were so similar, it's a good substitute.

Stampin' Supply List:

Stamps:  Harvest Blessings Clear-Mount (126452), The Open Sea Clear-Mount (123032), Oh, Hello Clear-Mount (130733)
Ink:  Crumb Cake (126975), Island Indigo (126986)
Card Stock:  Crumb Cake (120953), Whisper White (100730), Island Indigo (122923), Real Red (102482)
Embellishments:  Naturals Designer Buttons (127554), Rhinestone Jewels (119246), the Baker's Twine is the exclusive Bermuda Bay from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit (130153)
Tools:  Decorative Label Punch (120907), 1" Square Punch (124094)
Finished Size:  4-1/4" x 5-1/2"

Have a wonderful holiday!

PPA Color Challenge with Two Thank You Cards

Being part of the Pals the Mary Fish's group of demonstrators is SO much fun!  Everyone is truly amazing and supportive!  I love it!  The Pals Paper Arts team is hosting a color challenge this week to use the Stampin' Up! colors:  Primrose Petals, Gumball Green and Whisper White.  You can Click Here to play along and submit your projects.

Here's what I came up with this week!  A pair of Thank You Cards using the Oh, Hello Stamp set.  I couldn't decide which one I liked better, what do you prefer?  I think I like the Mosaic background one (the one on the left).  Leave me a comment below with your thoughts!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • The sentiment was stamped in Gumball Green ink.  It's from the Oh, Hello stamp set and I really love the font of this stamp.  It's too fun!
  • The In Color Dahlias were the perfect embellishment.  Quick and easy and went along perfectly with the color challenge.  Just need a Glue Dot and you're good to go.

  • The string of Rhinestone Jewels fit perfectly for the body of my butterfly!  These are self-adhesive Rhinestones so all I needed to do was trim off a string of three.  Three jewels perfectly fit the body of the Bitty Butterfly Punch. which is punched from Primrose Petals card stock.

Supply List:

Stamps:  Oh, Hello Clear-Mount stamp set (130733)
Ink:  Gumball Green (126861)
Paper:  Gumball Green (126840), Primrose Petals (126841)
Tools:  Bitty Butterfly Punch (129406), 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch (129404)
Embellishments: In Color Dahlias (127556), Basic Rhinestone Jewels (119246)
Finished Size:  5-1/2" x 4-1/4"

Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #9

The 4th of July is almost here! We have a very Patriotic challenge for you at the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge! Our theme this week is red, white, blue, stars, stripes and picnics by the lake!!! I hope you'll have time this week to play along with us and create something festive! We love seeing your amazing projects each week! Congrats to our Top 3 Picks from last week!

So here's what I came up with! My card features a NEW stamp set from the Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog! The set is called, Perfect Punches and is on page 131 of the IBC. It comes in either Wood Mount or Clear Mount with 6 incredible images that coordinate with the Stampin' Up! punches! I'm loving the savings of the Clear Mount Stamps so mine is the Clear Mount version - item # 120516 and sells for $17.95!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • I love the Rhinestone brads - but the brad legs can get a little dicey! So I trimmed off the 'legs' of the Red Circle Rhinestone Brads and adhered them with glue dots in a line - just like a 4th of July parade, down the top left hand side of my card! The Circle Fire Brads come in a package of 80+ brads in 3 different sizes, and I used all three sizes on my card today!
  • All the Stampin' Up! punches are now in the AMAZING new format! This sleek, space-saving style has a larger cutting surface and offers greater cutting precision and leverage. I think they're AWESOME and I'm a Huge fan of them!!! The Extra Large Star Punch I used on today's card has a new item code, 119875 and sells for $16.95.
  • The Woodgrain Background stamp (117100) offers a beautiful masculine feel to projects! I stamped this JUMBO stamp in Brocade Blue ink, then on Brocade Blue cardstock! All of the Stampin' Up! Background stamps still come in Wood Mount only - but I actually prefer the Wood Mount version in this large stamp since I like to stand while I'm using the larger background stamps and put a little muscle in them to get a fully inked image! This stamp measures the full size of a card front - and sells for $17.95.
  • My card layout is based upon last week's sketch challenge at the PPA, I missed the deadline to enter the challenge but still loved Margaret Moody's layout!
