Awash with Flowers in Green and Blue

My shipment of NEW Stampin' Up Catalogs will be arriving today! If you've already sent me payment, your copy will be mailed to you via Priority Mail! If you'd like to reserve your copy, please EMAIL ME!
Happy Monday to you! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! The weather has been beautiful here in Oregon! I have a card to share with you today, based upon the Sketch Challenge at Card Patterns! I love the scallop border of this layout and wanted to use the Square Scallop Die for that, so I turned my card into a square card! I also was inspired by the color challenge at the Sweet Stampin' Blog to use Brown, Green, and Blue! Plus the OCC blog had a challenge to use Blue & Green! Hope you enjoy what I came up with today!
Stampin' Essentials Tips:

  • One of my favorite stamping techniques is Two-Step Stampin'! The stamp set I used today is from the Awash with Flowers set which will be available in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog! It comes in a set of 18 stamps in either Wood Mount {W} or Clear Mount {C}.
  • The Greenhouse Gala DSP is also NEW and will be in the new Stampin' Up! catalog! It's probably one of my favorites and I chose a super cute brown, blue, and green pattern for the background of my card! I cut this to 4" square and matted it on the Scallop Square, which was die-cut from Chocolate Chip card stock!
  • I'm lovin' the NEW Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon! It's so CUTE! This ribbon will be available in {13} colors and comes with 10 yards per spool!

Kind Thanks in Chocolate and Kiwi

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I sure did! My friend Lizzy lives on a farm and we fed her goats and chased chickens around! It was quite fun and very amusing! Her mom makes the BEST Gluten-free goodies! It's always a delight when I get to have muffins or cookies that are gluten-free! Most things have wheat and/or gluten so I savor GOOD tasting baked goods that are gluten-free!

Anyways, onto today's card! The Just Add Ink blog had a fantastic color challenge using two of my favorites: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip and Barely Banana!

I paired those great colors with a sketch from Karen's Sweet Sunday Challenge and this 'Kind Thanks' card is what I came up with!

Using the Awash With Flowers stamp set, I rotated and repeatedly stamped the flower image to get a full looking daisy - since the stamp is just a half of a flower image - if that makes sense! I went out of my comfort zone quite a bit on this card stamping on Kiwi Kiss card stock and throwing a ton of brads in one spot for the center of the flower! It's always good to try new things and "expand your range" - one of my favorite quotes from the movie Step Up!

A Bag Inspired Flower Card for the PPA!

Inspirations is everywhere - clothing, fabric, advertisements, home decor and so much more! My sweet friend Katrina sewed this bag that I fell in love with and she ended up giving it to me as a suprise gift one day! I use it as my purse and just love the two different fabrics and floral pattern! I've been waiting to make a card with these colors and when the Pals Paper Arts posted a Flower themed challenge I knew I needed to get my supplies out, match card stock, and stamp away! I interpreted these colors as Cameo Coral (Retiring), Mellow Moss (Retiring), Bermuda Bay (Retiring), Basic Black and Whisper White! Here's what I came up with! :)
Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • With the Bermuda Bay DSP, I was able to get the Monochromatic Polka Dot look from the top of my bag! I cut a piece to 4" x 5-1/2" and rounded one corner in the top right with the 3/16" Corner Rounder Punch!
  • The Awash with Flowers Two-Step Stampin' set was perfect for getting a black outline for the flowers, then stamping the coordinating flower colors inside the images!
  • With Mother's Day a few weeks away - I thought I better have a few cards on hand to give to my mom and friends! The 'happy mother's day' sentiment comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set! There is definitely a stamp for every occasion in that set of 24 stamps! They fit perfectly with the Word Window Punch and the Modern Label Punch!
  • I used two Pretty in Pink Soft Subtles brads to anchor my sentiment - the brads surprisingly matched the Cameo Coral card stock really well! Just a shade lighter but the same hue! I great SU find!
Stamps: Awash with Flowers (120549 - Clear Mount), Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370)
Ink: Jet Black StazOn (101406), Mellow Moss (102774), Bermuda Bay (115655), Cameo Coral (103035)
Card Stock: Basic Black (102851), Cameo Coral 100475), Whisper White (100730), Bermuda Bay (115317)
Paper: Bermuda Bay DSP (115684)
Embellishments: Soft Subtles Brads (106954)
Punches: 3/16" Corner Rounder (109047), Word Window (105090), Modern Label (116630)
Tools: Big Shot (113439), Elegant Bouquet Embossing Folder (115964), Circle Scissor Plus (112530), Glass Mat (112531)
Finished Size: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" (A2)

Happy Easter card!

It's time for another awesome Pals Paper Arts color challenge! LOVED these three colors together: Lavender Lace, Barely Banana, Certainly Celery and I threw in Whisper White! ;)
The Mojo Monday sketch was a super fun one to follow along with! I made mine square and the finished size ended up being 5-1/4" x 5-1/4"! But of course the circle layout is super cute as well! Using my Scallop Circle die and my Big Shot, I created the scallop circle in the center and layers with my Circle Scissor Plus! My circle sizes are 4" in Barely Banana, 3-3/4" in Certainly Celery, and 3-1/2" in Whisper White!

Stampin' Royalty, Cupcake Craft and the Fussy and Fancy blogs each had an Easter Challenge which I made this card for. As well as the Pink Elephant blog had a Pastels challenges! Oh how I love challenges!! ;)

Giggle....it's almost Spring!!!

I'm loving my new stamp set, Awash with Flowers (120549 Clear Mount)! Hostesses will earn this NEW set for FREE during the month of April with a $350 workshop or personal order! This set will be in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog which comes out in July! I recommend using block size 'H' (for the stems) and 'C' (for the flowers and leaves). With these two blocks, I was able to stamp the images and it worked great!

Two-Step Stampin' is probably one of my favorite stamping techniques simply because it's so forgiving and doesn't HAVE to be perfectly in place! It can be 'off' a little and still maintain a whimsical look and feel to it! With 18 images in this new set - it'll be perfect for many different occasions! I'm looking forward to sharing several more Sneak Peeks with you later this week!

My card layout today was inspired by the Clean & Simple Stamping blog, with their sketch #82.
My colors were inspired by the Color Throwdown's challenge this week to use: Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi and Marigold Morning! I swaped out Old Olive for Wild Wasabi and So Saffron for Marigold Morning (since I didn't have those two colors). I thought Old Olive and So Saffron were very similiar and kept with the fun combination of these colors!

The Pink Elephant blog has a Spring challenge this week and with these bright, fun colors and pretty, whimsical flowers - I thought this card was just right!

Stamps: Awash with Flowers (120549 - Clear Mount), Warm Words (115108)
Ink: Basic Black (101179), Melon Mambo (115656), Bermuda Bay (115655), Old Olive (102277), So Saffron (105213)
Card Stock: Melon Mambo (115320), Bermuda Bay (115317), Whisper White (100730)
Paper: Sweet Pea DSP Stack (117161)
Embellishments: 1/2" Melon Mambo Polka-Dot Ribbon (115611), Earth Elements Brads (106955), Rich Regals Brads (106953)
Punches: 3/16" Corner Rounder (109047), Scallop Trim Border (118402 - FREE during SAB)
Stampin' Essentials: Block H (118490), Block C (118486)
Finished Size: 4-1/4" x 5-1/2"

Have a marvelous Monday,
