Mojo Monday Sketch in Tangerine Tango

I'm so excited Tangerine Tango is coming back to the Stampin' Up! color line-up! Starting with the 2010-2011 Idea Book Catalog, Tangerine Tango will be in the Brights Collection! It's a wonderful shade of Orange, which was the challenge at the TPE blog to use orange! The Mojo Monday sketch was a fun one this week and here's what I came up with using the Wings of Friendship Level 2 Hostess stamp set!

The Cupcake Craft Challenges blog had a challenge to use Black, Gray, and one other color, which I chose as Tangerine Tango!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:

• The wing of my bird is patterned paper from the retired Sweet Pea Stack! I used the Two-Step Bird Punch to punch out his wing! The punch out layers perfectly over the original stamped wing! Inspired by....Challenge at PPA

The Pals Paper Arts blog had a photo inspired (see below) challenge this week! What stood out to me the most from this ensemble is the plate (I think it's a plate or maybe a coaster, hahaha!!) of very colorful birds! With the bright, fun colors, I wanted to carry that look onto my card!
So here's what I came up with! A very bright and cherry birthday card! I seem to be giving those out a lot lately! The colors I chose were Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, and Tempting Turquoise! Of course white was thrown in there to 'balance' things out! Hahaha!

• I did very minimal stamping on this card! The 'Birthdays are the best!' sentiment is from the Chit Chat Rub-ons (111804)!
• My Kiwi Kiss flower on the Round Tab punch up top is from the Wings of Friendship Hostess Level 2 set (114308) with a Silver Brad in the center!!!

Shh, don't tell anyone, but I've never used this bird stamp from the Wings of Friendship Hostess Level 2 set! I've had this set for about 8 months and have used other images in the set but not the bird one! Hehe! Am I a nerd or what!?! Thought this bird themed challenge was the perfect time to use it!

I followed along with the sketch at Crazy for Challenges! Love this card layout with the row of embellishments down the right hand side! I chose to put Basic Gray Corduroy Buttons lined up there on my card!!!

A Trio of Red and Kraft!

Hello friends! I wanted to share with you three cards I made using the awesome Clean & Simple card sketch! So quick and easy - I love it and with the swirls, it's just too much fun!!!

Stacey has another great color challenge at the Curtain Call! I REALLY wanted to use my Ruby Red DSP so I swaped out Real Red for Ruby Red! Kraft card stock really works great with all kinds of colors! I used Sahara Sand classic ink for a tone on tone look with my swirls in the corner!

WOW! Do you love this color challenge from the Color Throwdown blog or what? I thought it was a fantastic combo of SU colors and I had so much creating a card with these three colors along with Whisper White for my neutral!

This was my first time playing along at Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge and this was a great card layout! My scallop border on the left hand side came from the SU Princess Party Kit! So easy! It was already scalloped and with the polka-dots, I just had to add it to my card! Of course it was also the perfect color: Regal Rose to go along with the color challenge!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:

With my layered flower as the focal point, my sentiment ended up in the corner! I used the images from the Hostess Level 2 set, Wings of Friendship and stamped the swirls in Regal Rose ink in the corner first. Then with my stamp-a-ma-jig, I lined up the sentiment next to it. I thought about stamping the sentiment on top of the swirls, but decided against it since I wanted to be able to see both images clearly since I like them both so much! To add a little brown to the swirls, I stamped the flower in the middle of it adding a brad to the middle of it! To frame the card in, I used the Mat Pack and Paper-Piercing tool to add a corner border! My favorite part of the card is the looped Chocolate Chip border! It's so easy but such a cute way to add dimension! What I did was take a long, thin piece of cardstock, distress it with my bone folder. Then add a piece of Sticky Strip behind it and then 'loop' the card stock on top of itself in small loops! So fun!

I was so thrilled when the Color Throwdown crew posted this awesome color challenge using my favorite color combination of all time: Baja Breeze, Basic Black, and Sahara Sand! My home's interior paint colors, decorations, and even my wardrobe are primarily in these three wonderful colors! This will be my first time playing along with this great group of stampers, and I'm looking foward to participating in more of their upcoming challenges! Sadly, Baja Breeze retired from the Stampin' Up! Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog, but it is still one of my favorite colors and I do hope they bring it back some day!
