Clean and Simple Thursday

Happy Thursday everyone! Hope you had a great day! Here's my card I made based upon the Taylored Expressions sketch! I kept my card clean & simple - but the color combination was too die for! Loved both of these challenges this week!

The Color Throwdown blog has a color challenge this week to use: Taken with Teal, Black, Soft Sky, and Tangerine Tango! I swaped out Baja Breeze for Soft Sky but overall I think this combination is totally great!

I'm keeping my post simple today since I just got home from work and need to run to High School group with the kiddos! So until next time, I hope you enjoyed today's card and make sure and put your guess in for my Blog Candy! The more guesses the merrier!

Good Morning friends! Here's a super quick, easy and simple card for you today! Based upon the sketch at Clean & Simple Stamping (pictured below)! Don't you just love the row of circles and how simple it is! It's perfect for the kind of week I'm having! ;) Quick and easy!

My colors were inspired by a challenge at the Cards & Things blog! We were to use Elegant Egplant, Mellow Moss, and Bordering Blue in our creations! I'm definitely a 'Cool' color girl (on the color spectrum) so I just love these colors together! Greens and Blues are my favorites and the richness of the Elegant Eggplant is really pretty together!

This super quick and easy Thinking of You card was a breeze with my punch! What's so great about it is that the three images (the leaf/stem, bird, and wing) are all separate so they can be punched out in different colors! I coordinated them with the colors in my background paper: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, and Baja Breeze! The NEW Punch design totally beats the old SU punches! Hi friends! Well I have to confess, I LOVE square card layouts!!! Here's another cutie from the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge and my take on the sketch! My color inspiration was from Stacey's Curtain Call to use: Going Gray, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, and Very Vanilla! Here's another confession: Going Gray is probably the least used Stampin' Up! color I use! I'm totally drawn to Basic Gray since it's dark - but I really enjoyed using the lighter Going Gray with the rich colors of the More Mustard and dark Chocolate Chip!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:

• My card base was cut from Going Gray card stock to 5-1/4" x 10-1/2", then scored and folded at 5-1/4". My fold is at the top so that I could wrap my ribbon around the card! The Pink Elephant blog posted a challenge to use ribbon, and I used the Stampin' Up! Basic Gray Taffeta on mine!
• Did you notice those super cute NEW Brads in the corner of my card!?! They are the Chocolate Chip 1/4" Sending Love Epoxy Brads! There's 16 brads total per container; 8 each of 2 designs! I used the Chocolate Chip & Vanilla flower ones on mine, but there's also stripes too!
• The cute swirly DSP paper is a FREEBIE in the SAB brochure! It's from the Welcome Neighbor DSP pad! Contains {72} 6" x 6" sheets total: 3 each of 24 double-sided designs!
• The flowers in the center circles is from the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set (111672) on page 97 of the SU Idea Book & Catalog! I stamped them in Chocolate Chip ink on the Very Vanilla card stock.
• My 'Happiness Always' sentiment is another FREEBIE from the SAB brochure! It's from the Whimsical Words (118386) stamp set on page 8 of the brochure! You can get this FREE stamp set with a $50 order and in either the Wood Mount {W} or the Clear Mount {C}. You have a choice!!

To celebrate 100 sketches, the Taylored Expressions blog posted this great card sketch! I loved using my Circle Scissor Plus to create all those circles on my card! I also used my Big Shot to cut the large Scallop Circle, which I cut out of Soft Suede card stock! Scrapmaster's Paradise posted a great color challege as well, to use Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, and Bermuda Bay (all SU In Colors!!!), which I incorporated into my card as well!

The more candles the bigger the wish!

Isn't this such an amazing color challenge from Stacey's Stamping Stage!?! I loved working with this great Stampin' Up! colors that included: Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Garden Green & Lavender Lace!

Then the OCC had a great sketch that I used for my card! I found a new challenge blog called Sweet Stampin' that posted a Floral Frenzy challenge! My card had tons of flowers on it so I entered that challenge as well! The flowers in the cake were colored in using my ink pads and blender pens! I love the blender pens because you can use them like markers and create any color with an ink pad!!! The cake is from the Happy Moments SAB set!!!

Small Wonder - Whimsical Words SAB set!

I totally love this sketch from post at the Clean & Simple Stamping blog! It's just so great and I thought it'd work well for a baby card! The colors worked so beautifully together as well! This is another great combo from the Color Throwdown blog! I love Baja Breeze!

If you were wondering what size blocks I used, I punched out small pieces of DSP with my 3/4" square punch (retired) and layered them on 1" square pieces of Kraft card stock! I inked the edges of each square (so they'd show up on my Kraft card base) and the card with Sahara Sand ink! I stamped the Medallion background stamp in the corner also in Sahara Sand ink along with my sentiment from the Whimsical Words stamp set - a FREEBIE during SAB! My finished card size is the standard A2 (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") and is scored at the top.
I also entered this in the Flutter By blog, since my card has some pretty cute butterflies on it! My new, Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings Embosslits die (118138) was on back order, and just as I sat down to make this card, the UPS man knocked on the door with my package and die in hand! So I just had to use it and oh what fun it was! It cuts and embosses 5 different shaped butterflies on one die! It's so great! This is a new Stampin' Up! Big Shot die that is featured on page 24 of the new Occasions Mini Catalog! Four of the five butterflies that this die creates are featured on my card!

My Sweet Friends!

Welcome to the Tuesday edition of Stampin' Essentials! I wanted to post some cards I made for several of my friends! They totally blessed me with some great birthday presents, so I made these 'Thank You' notes for all them! The Sale-A-Bration (SAB) Welcome Neighbor Paper Pad (118401) had this totally cute paper that I had to use! I thought the little house was so cute by itself, that I just added the sentiment and embellishments! The 'You're too Kind' sentiment is from the Whimsical Words SAB set (118386). I stamped it in Pumpkin Pie ink on Whisper White card stock, punched it out with the large oval punch, then punched out a piece of DSP with the scallop oval punch!

This little card I made for my friend Kate S., who just moved into a sweet, new apartment! This paper is more of the great DSP in the Welcome Neighbor SAB paper pad (118401)! I just trimmed up a piece and layered it on Bermuda Bay card stock!

This is the inside, it says 'Congratulations' with a sweet stamp from the Well Scripted set (117072) in the Occasions Mini Catalog! I also used the Photo Corners punch on both of these cards for a little accent of color in the corners! Super quick and easy!
