I feel like I rarely use the Stampin' Up! Great Friend stamp set (113792), so I used that on todays card! It's such a cute stamp set for only $17.95! With a butterfly and sentiments - it's the perfect stamp set!

A Note of Thanks for Janet

I went to lunch with the sweetest gal on Saturday, her name is Janet! We ate at PF Changs then headed over to the movies and watched 'Oceans'. She is just so fun and easy to talk to! I made this thank you card for her. I think she's close to my mom's age, but she still is a dear friend to me and very encouraging! So glad I was able to spend the afternoon with her and listening to her stories about her husband Sid, their granddaughters, the home in southern Oregon Sid built for her and just the precious memories of her blessed life! Thanks Janet!!

For my flower focal point, I die cut a Whisper White daisy, added a Filigree Designer Brad (free during May), and a Chocolate Chip Striped Epoxy brad (from the Occasions Mini catalog) in the center! I have no idea if the Epoxy brads will be featured in the next catalog but I certainly hope so! I loved them!

Trendy Trees Thinking of You - CQC27

Week 2 of my Colour Q design team brings an awesome, masculine color combination! My First Ever Design Team!! COLOUR Q!

I've been doing the Happy Dance for DAYS now after Arielle of Colour Q asked me to be a member of her Design Team (DT)! I'm so exciting to be a part of this talented team! Small Wonder - Whimsical Words SAB set!

I totally love this sketch from post at the Clean & Simple Stamping blog! It's just so great and I thought it'd work well for a baby card! The colors worked so beautifully together as well! This is another great combo from the Color Throwdown blog! I love Baja Breeze!

If you were wondering what size blocks I used, I punched out small pieces of DSP with my 3/4" square punch (retired) and layered them on 1" square pieces of Kraft card stock! I inked the edges of each square (so they'd show up on my Kraft card base) and the card with Sahara Sand ink! I stamped the Medallion background stamp in the corner also in Sahara Sand ink along with my sentiment from the Whimsical Words stamp set - a FREEBIE during SAB! My finished card size is the standard A2 (4-1/4" x 5-1/2") and is scored at the top.
I also entered this in the Flutter By blog, since my card has some pretty cute butterflies on it! My new, Stampin' Up! Beautiful Wings Embosslits die (118138) was on back order, and just as I sat down to make this card, the UPS man knocked on the door with my package and die in hand! So I just had to use it and oh what fun it was! It cuts and embosses 5 different shaped butterflies on one die! It's so great! This is a new Stampin' Up! Big Shot die that is featured on page 24 of the new Occasions Mini Catalog! Four of the five butterflies that this die creates are featured on my card!

Music expresses that which can't be said

Good Morning! Just wanted to say a quick CONGRATS to my dear friend Natalie S. who placed her SU order from my site last night (ya for shopping 24/7) and earned a free SAB set! I love when my friends get stamping goodies for free! Yah Natalie! Hehe! =)

So I played along with a few blog challenges including Mercy's Tuesday sketch and the Color Dare color challenge! The colors are SU's Old Olive, Only Orange (which I swaped for Pumpkin Pie), Chocolate Chip and Brocade Blue! I modified the sketch just a little bit to include the sentiment at the top since it had to be there, right!?!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:

• I used my Blender pens and ink pads to color in the different images with colors! I don't have all the SU markers so using my Blender pens, I can achieve any color with this set of three markers for only $9.95! I pooled color on the ink pad lid (or you can use re-inkers) and used the Blender pen to grab some color and start coloring! I love doing this because I feel like a real artist!
• My background paper comes from the Thoroughly Modern DSP pack and is actually Soft Suede, but it was so pretty and swirly I thought it went along with my stamped image just fine!
• The Music word on the sentiment is actually colored with Brocade Blue ink! I first stamped the whole stamp in Chocolate Chip, used a Blender pen to remove the ink from Music, then used my Blender pen again to add Brocade Blue ink! Good thing these pens are Dual-Tipped and come in a 3-pack! =)

Hello Baby

Trying new, cool tricks with my punches is so FUN! I had a blast creating this baby card and making a baby carriage with my Stampin' Up! 3/4" Circle Punch! My card layout is based on the sketch challenge from the Taylored Expressions blog! The colors are from a color challenge at the Play Date Cafe blog and the theme of a Baby card was posted at the Cupcake Craft Challenge blog!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:

Don't you love this baby carriage! Oh my goodness I think it's SO cute! You can easily make this too, let me tell you how I made it! I punched out a 3/4" circle out of Whisper White Textured card stock, then cut out the opening about a 1/2" down and all then all the way to the side! Then I used my Scallop Edge punch and punched out some pink DSP from the Razzleberry Lemonade paper pack and layered it underneath the opening! Super easy and this can easily be swaped out for a boy card too!
The sweet sentiment comes from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set! I stamped it in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink and centered it using my Stamp-a-ma-Jig for perfect placement!

A Clean and Simple Hello!

Hi Friends! Hope you are all having a wonderful day! I had so much fun creating this card since I was able to incorporate {3} challenges in one card!!! Plus two of the challenges were new for me so it was an extra special stamping time for me! Lot's of inspiration and fun to be had! The Color Dare blog posted a great color challenge with the SU colors: Cameo Coral, Bashful Blue, and Soft Suede! Then I found the Pink Elephant blog and they posted two fabulous card sketches and I chose this layout since I don't usually make cards in this size - so that was fun! Then of course the Our Creative Corner blog posted a challenge of keeping it clean and simple, so I kept my stamping to a minimum with just a simple sentiment from the Stampin' Up! Chic Boutique stamp set! I love the font in the 'hello' - it's just too sweet!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:

• My card base is cut from a 12"x 12" Textured piece of Bashful Blue card stock! It's cut at 3-1/4" and scored at 6" (since it's 12" long). The fold is on the left side rather than at the top! Then I used my 3/16" corner rounder to round the top right corner!
• I layered a pieced of DSP from the Thoroughly Modern paper pack on top! I love the pattern in the Soft Suede piece!
• My Butterfly was cut out of Cameo Coral card stock then I added texture by running it through my Big Shot with the Finial Press Texture folder! The Whisper White button serves as it's body! I love either using buttons, brads, or ribbon for the center of my butterflies!
• The Whisper White card stock trip is punched out with the Eyelet Border punch and the Soft Suede Polka-Dot Ribbon is layered on top!
• My sentiment is stamped in Cameo Coral Classic Ink on Whisper White card stock then punched out with the Curly Label punch! I cut the punched out piece in half, and tucked it behind the ribbon!
• Stampin' Up! has the perfect envelopes for this size card! The Whisper White Small Open-End Envelopes come in a pack of 20 for $7.50! Item number for ordering is: 107286

MoJo111 ~ Great Friend

My card today was based upon the awesome MoJo Monday sketch! I love this sketch - it was so simple but fun to work with! The Thoroughly Modern double-sided Designer Series Paper (pg. 163) was such a beautiful color combination with the Bermuda Bay and Soft Suede! Those two colors make me happy! I used the Daisy Flower die since it resembled the flowers in the DSP paper! The silver Filigree brad in the middle is a fun way to add dimension and texture to the card!

Stampin' Up! Monogram "K" Stationery

"K" for Kari! Made this fun Monogram Stationery at my last Stampin' Up! Demonstrator group meeting hosted by my fabulous upline, Barb Brimhall! Love the personalized look and feel PLUS the Thoroughly Modern File Folders (pg. 169) are a great addition to the Stampin' Up! product offerings! Here are the directions for how I made this:
1) Cut the width of a File Folder down to 6" and then cut off bottom hangover edge of folder so that the bottom edges are flush. Score across fold at 8-1/2"
2) Place your folder on your Stampin Grid Paper (pg. 191) so that the 12" side is along the ruler. At the bottom of the folder, measure over 3/8" from the middle score line (6" on the 12" side), and place a mark. Cut from this mark to the middle score line to create a "V" so that when flaps are folded up, they will lie flat with no bluckling.
3) Fold up the bottom pieces and attach with sticky strip. Be sure to create a "pocket" on the left hand side by adhereing adhesive only to the side edges.
4) Attach ribbon (pg. 182) to the back of the Jr. Legal pad with sticky strip. Tip: Don't make the ribbon too tight or the pen will not lay flat.
5) Attach a pre-cut coordinating strip of Thoroughly Modern DSP over the top of the Legal pad to hide the brand logo and slide notebook inside pocket on the right hand side.
6) Adhere Monogram letter (cut out of excess file folder pieces using the Big Shot) to the front of the folder Stampin' Up! Supplies used:File Folder: Thoroughly Modern (115692)
