Seeing Photopolymer Stamps Clearly

I've talked with a lot of crafting friends and customers who have asked me, 'What is Photopolymer'? What I realized is that many are confused by the Clear-Mount stamps Stampin' Up! offers versus the Photopolymer.  So today I thought I'd give you a quick explanation of the difference along with a few samples from one of MY favorite Photopolymer stamp sets called, Banner Blessings (item 136720).

In a nutshell, Stampin' Up! offers 3 different types of stamps:
  1. Wood-Mount
  2. Clear-Mount
  3. Photopolymer

Wood-Mount stamps are the traditional stamps we know and love that come with wood blocks to mount your stamp images on.  They stay permanently on the wood blocks and there's no changing out the images with each use!

Clear-Mount stamps are similar to Wood-Mount stamps in that they still have the red rubber and foam backing.  You adhere these images to Clear Blocks and change them out with each use.

Photopolymer are completely see-through, clear and they are used with Clear Blocks.  You do change them out with use BUT the great benefit of completely clear stamping is that you can see where you are placing your stamps on your project!

Here's a picture of the Clear-Mount Stamps:

You can see the red rubber and the stickers on the images.  The sticker side adheres to the Clear blocks - you can see the image but there can be slight variation to the actual stamp image and where the sticker is.

Stampin' Essentials Tip:  I always stamp on scrap paper first before I stamp on my project - just to make sure the image is straight and right where I want it to go!

Moving onto Photopolymer Stamps!  Here's a photo of the completely clear Photopolymer Stamp sets!

You can see they use the clear blocks and you can perfectly see through the image to make sure it's inked up well and stamp it right where you want it to go!

Now to my favorite set, Banner Blessings (item $15.95)!

You can view the images above, this set comes with 4 stamps.  I just love the verses and the words and font are too cute!  My favorite is the Friend stamp!

This is an adorable Thanks card created with the Banner Blessings stamp set.  The Whisper White Baker's Twine is the perfect soft touch to this card!

Whether you stamp with Clear-Mount stamp sets of Photopolymer stamp sets, You will definitely need clear blocks.

Stampin' Essentials Tip:  If you'd like a budget friendly recommendation, I'd suggest Block size D for $8.50 (item 118485).  It's universal and works well with almost every stamp set Stampin' Up! carries.  It's the 'Little Black Dress' of stamping and will be a go to for sure!

Hope that helps answer your questions about the difference between Clear-Mount and Photopolymer stamp sets!  You can EMAIL ME anytime if you have further questions or need help ordering Stampin' Up! products online.

Vintage Vogue friends

Hello friends! The Pink Elephant posted a great sketch challenge this week that I had to play along with! I love the different layers of this sketch!

I also made this card for a Friendship Challenge at the Cupcake Craft Challenge blog!!! The Stampin' Up! Vintage Vogue stamp set is just perfect for friendship themed cards I think!!! It's a beautiful set and one of the first ones I bought that were the new Clear Mount stamps! You can click here to learn more about these new, easy to use stamps!! I'm sure enjoying mine and I know you will too, PLUS they are cheaper than the Wood Mount, which is fantastic!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • The beautiful Designer Series Paper I used is the super cool blog candy I won from the Stampin' Royalty challenge blog! It's part of the Lovely Flowers Bundle Level 3 Hostess set on page 18 of the Idea Book and Catalog!
  • The colors in the papers were my inspiration for color choices: Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, and Melon Mambo!!!
  • I added a touch of bling to my card with the Circle Fire Rhinestone brads! These cuties come in three different sizes, and I loved parading them down the side of my card from largest to smallest! To line them up, I used my Paper-Piercing tool and Mat Pak template! Here's a hint on spacing: there are {3} holes from the large to medium brad, and {2} holes between the medium and small brad (on the template) - hopefully that makes sense!
  • To add some vintage to my papers and card stock, I inked the edges of every sheet of paper for a distressed look and dimension using my ink pads. I coordinated each color depending on the color of paper and/or card stock!
  • My friends stamp was first stamped in Old Olive ink, then again in Rich Razzleberry ink! I cut out just the 'F' from the Rich Razzleberry stamped image and adhered it on top the Old Olive image with Stampin' Dimensionals!!!
