5 Card Ideas Using Washi Tape

Washi Tape is the quickest and easiest way to decorate cards and journals!  Useful tape meets exclusive designs!  My blog post today is dedicated to showing you 5 simple card ideas using Washi Tape.  I whipped these cards up in no time thanks to the ease of Washi Tape.  It was my first time really using it and I LOVED it!  You'll want to grab some too and play along.  Stampin' Up! sells a couple different kinds and I know you'll dig 'em.  I'm ready to buy more, that's for sure!  Gingham Garden is next on my list!

What's up with Washi Tape?
  • It's a masking tape made with paper
  • Use it as an adhesive or a fun decorative element
  • Reposition it!  Experiment or move it around after you place it down!
  • Tear or cut -- play with it!  It's super easy to work with

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • I tore strips of Washi Tape for a background on this card.  It looks like paper but is tape and SO easy to tear off and adhere to projects!

  • Layer a few pieces of Washi Tape together or flag the ends -- it all works!  You can even stamp on them too!

  • The Washi Tape coordinates perfectly with the Epic Day This & That Designer Stickers.  Both are quick and easy and capture the fun, grunge look of smash books!

  • Banners & Pennants!  Make pennants in a snap with Washi Tape.  Wrap around Baker's Twine for an instant banner.  Flag or cut ends however you want!

Other uses for Washi Tape besides cards!
  • Gift wrap & packaging.  Rather than boring old scotch tape, assemble your gifts with Washi Tape.  Much cuter and more fun!
  • Smash books & journaling.  Capture moments and ideas quickly in a journal with Washi Tape.
  • Cupcake Toppers
  • Home decor - wrap tea lights and votives with Washi Tape
  • Drinks!  Have people write there name on Washi Tape and label their drink cups at your next home party!
