Inspired by Pillows and a Great Sketch

Howdy peeps! Happy Sunday to you! Today I have a card to show you based upon the incredible sketch challenge at Taylored Expressions AND the Inspirational Challenge at the PPA. Thank you Mary and Pals for hosting a great challenge this week! I'm pretty much in love with the pillows in the photo below - and probably the hammock too! So excited summer is on it's way here to Oregon!
Check out these pillows, aren't they fab!?! I just love them! I went with the color scheme of: Tangering Tango, Whisper White, Basic Gray, Basic Black, Always Artichoke, and Certainly Celery. Although while I was making this card, I really wanted to use River Rock, but I'll just have to wait til it's return in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog on July 1st!
Here's what I came up with! Clean & Simple style!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • I thought to follow the sketch, I'd place strips of card stock along the right hand side of the card - plus it matches the pillows too!
  • To mimick the hamic, I used the Square Lattice Embossing Folder found in the Summer Mini Catalog to get that great cross hatch look!
  • My flowers are a combination of two Stampin' Up! dies - the Birds & Blooms and the Blossom Party Originals die. They are sponged with Tangerine Tango ink with sponge daubers and the edges rounded!
  • No stamps were used on my card! 'My Wonderful Friend' sentiment is from the awesome Chit Chat Rub-Ons! These beauties are on the LAST CHANCE LIST. Get 'em before they're gone!!!
