Happy Birthday Princess

Happy Saturday! I made this birthday card for several fun challenges, including a new blog, Stampin' Royalty (doesn't it go perfectly with my princess theme!?!). My sketch was from the Taylored Expressions sketch challenge and The Pink Elephant blog had a challenge to make a birthday card and the Cupcake Craft blog had a challenge to make it Girly! So I had fun making this a girly birthday card with great SU colors and fabulous sketch!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:

My crown is from the SU Princess Party kit and it works perfectly with these colors since it's Pale Plum! I matted two crowns together so that it has some depth! Then I added Clear Rhinestone brads at the top of each point! I love that the Stampin' Up! package of brads comes with over 80 brads in 3 sizes, so I put the largest sized brad at the top with 2 medium sized brads on the sides! My white border at the bottom of the card is from the Curly Label punch, I just punched out two labels, and cut them in half and layered them behind the DSP. The Elegant Eggplant rick rack ribbon adds a fun touch as well! Then in the bottom left hand corner (to follow the sketch) I added all three sized brads!

Happy Birthday Princess ~ PPA12

Ready for some birthday bling!?! The Pals Paper Arts posted this amazing sketch (PPA12) on their blog and I'm so excited that I get to play along! I love sketches simply because they are the best place to start and help me in the design process for my cards and projects! My Princess Time set and Party Kit were the first things I grabbed because the crown is too cute and needed to be front and center, which works perfectly with the circle focal point of the sketch. I had fun playing with these new Stampin' Up! Products! The Princess Time Stamp set (116720) and the Princess Party Kit (116214) are featured in the SU Idea Book & Catalog on page 75 and 174. These two products work wonderfully for all things girly, especially birthdays and parties!

The Rhinestone brads poked through on the inside of my card, so I simply covered them up with some leftover die-cuts from the Party Kit! Added a scallop edge on the right side too and layered a thin strip of yellow on top! Dressing up the insides of cards is a great way too keep the fun flowing from the card front!

The finishing touch was to dress-up my Whisper White envelope! To do this, cut a piece of paper or cardstock to approximately 6-1/2" long x 3" wide. Adhere with strong adhesive to the flap, then trim away the excess paper! I prefer to use my paper snips since they get such a close, clean cut! This green paper and pink scallop is leftover goodies from the Princess Party Kit!
