I was at a Waddle it Be party this weekend for some of my dearest friends! It was a party to reveal whether or not they were having a Boy or Girl and the theme was ducks, hence waddle or (what'll it be?). Love the theme they chose to reveal to us the gender of their fourth baby! The answer was inside the gorgeous cake! They later cut the cake kinda like bride & groom wedding style after all of us were anticipating the answer!
Flags , banners and pennants -- they are everywhere and I think they are just too cute. I adore the penants with letters printed on pages from an old bible! Super cute huh cake topper hug? Some pink and some blue banners made out of different kinds of scrapbook paper added to the suspense of whether or not it was a boy or girl! The little banners are a great way to use scraps of DSP or even fabric!
After we ate and hung out with 30 or so friends, it was time to find out the gender! By the end of the evening I was dying from the suspense! I thought it was a boy and, yep it sure is going to be a boy! He'll arrive in late September! Just in time for football season! Another cowboy in the house!
Sorry if this isn't the best photo, I took it with my phone. But here is another banner made by our friend Kati. She tore out pages from an old bible and printed the Boy or Girl on the page with her computer. Pretty nifty huh? Then she glued on the ducks to bookend the the B/G.
Chalkboard fun! Yeah, I wrote the Waddle it Be on the sign Then I got nervous about the rest and Kati covered for me and wrote the rest of the sign and the Cast Your Vote! It's very nerve wracking to write in white when everyone is going to see it! Hahahaha! On this huge chalkboard sign that belonged to our friend Melissa, everyone voted whether or not they thought it'd be a boy or girl! Then we wore our vote in either mustache or bow stickers!
So fun huh? Such clever ideas all throughout the details of the party and I loved the theme. I wanted to post the ideas here for you since it was such an incredible party! Jess gave me permission to post them here on my blog and while I was driving home from Portland to Washington, I was thinking about how fun incorporate Stampin' Up! stamps into this theme and some ideas popped in my head to share with you!
Stamps! There are two products that came to mind right away that I thought would be fun to duplicate this kind of idea with using stamps! The cute banners were exceptional and I thought about how to improvise if you didn't have an old bible or book to tear pages out of. So here are a few ideas I came up with that you could use!
The Dictionary background stamp measures 4-1/2" x 5-3/4" and would be so easy to stamp in black ink on Very Vanilla card stock to achieve the aged look of old book pages! Cut the bottom into banners and you could add whatever you wanted to the center to spell out the party theme your celebrating! This background stamp is on page 100 of the 2013-2014 Catalog if you wanted to check it out
The cake topped with the banners made me think of this Hostess Rewards stamp set called Banner Greetings! It's available to customers or hostesses with orders over $150+. The Banner Greetings stamp set comes with these 6 images and the Clear-Mount versions is only $8.00. WOW! Love it! The baby cakes image (lower left), would be fun to stamp in ink and wrap around toothpicks for cupcake toppers! I don't have this set yet, but after seeing the cute banners, I want this set now to decorate for other parties for friends! It could work perfectly for birthday parties, baby showers, or bachelorette gatherings! This set is on page 202 of the 2013-2014 Catalog if you wanted to check it out!
Hope you loved the Waddle it Be Wednesday post!
Congrats to Bryn & Jess! Love you guys!
