Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #17

It's Thursday!!! Thanks to everyone that joined us last week at the Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge! We're so glad you play along and enjoy these challenges with each each week! This week is a super cute inspiration challenge and I just love those cupcake toppers! Handcrafted party decor is totally in right now so it's fun to see this carry over into our challenges! My friend Mindy just asked me to create some more cupcake toppers for an upcoming friend's baby shower, so I'll make sure and share those with you! CLICK HERE to see photos from Mindy's daughter's birthday party and the cupcake toppers I made for her!
I needed a 'thank you' card to send to my friend Regina! She had me over last weekend for a crafting day and we had SO much fun! Here's what I came up with for this week:
Stampin' Essentials Tips:

  • My card layout is based upon this week's MoJo Monday sketch! I just love the simplicity of the design and the four square pattern! My Squares are 2" x 2" and cut from Marina Mist card stock!
  • Hello BLING!!! Oh yes, I love the NEW Stampin' Up! Rhinestone Jewels (119246)! They are 1/2 back, and include 150 pieces per package! 50 each in 3 different sizes! But the best part is that they are SELF-ADHESIVE! Check them out on page 188 of the Idea Book & Catalog! There is also Pearls Jewels (119247). These beauties are a steal for only $4.95 per package!!!
  • No stamps or ink were used on this card!!! Can you believe it!?! The embossed 'Thanks' sentiment is from the 'THANKS' Embosslit die (115957) on page 215 of the Idea Book & Catalog! I ran the die through my Big Shot (113439) with Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso card stock. Then trimmed out just the 'THANKS' with my Paper Snips (103579) and layered it on top of the Early Espresso die-cut!
To place a Stampin' Up! order On-Line 24/7, CLICK HERE!

Card Stock: Pear Pizzazz (119795), Early Espresso (119686), Marina Mist (119682), Pretty in Pink (100459), So Saffron (105118)

Colour Q #47 with Stampin' Up! Birthday Bliss Set

Happy Tuesday to you! It's another edition of the Colour Q challenge featuring an awesome color combination of More Mustard, Poppy Parade, Bermuda Bay (Retired), Basic Gray, and Whisper White. I swaped out Tempting Turquoise for Bermuda Bay since I wanted to make sure you were able to order current Stampin' Up! product if you wanted to order the supplies I used to make this card! Here's what I came up:

My card layout is based upon the sketch challenge at Taylored Expressions. I love the big circles and used the Stampin' Up! Circle Scissor Plus (112530) to create them. I think my largest one is 2-1/4" in diameter, then the layers are approximatley 1/8" smaller on each circle. The groovy flowers are from the Blossom Party Bigz die (115971). I off-centered them to keep the party alive!! HAHA - oh how I love Family Force 5! The Turquoise polka dot designer series paper I used on this card is from the Island Oasis DSP (117173) in the Summer Mini! There's only one week left to place your orders from this mini!

Sentiment is from the Birthday Bliss stamp set on page 57

Stampin' Up! Punch Caddies Not Available

As you know, the Punch Caddies are listed in the new Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog (pg. 200) as “Coming Soon.” Stampin' Up! is disappointed to report, however, that due to serious production and quality issues with the manufacturer, SU will not be able to offer the Punch Caddies at all (sad day). And because the manufacturer will likely not be able to meet the quality standards for the Punch Caddy in the future, Stampin' Up! does not have any plans to offer a revised or equivalent product in its place.

I am super bummed that SU cannot offer the Punch Caddies for sale!!! But because of Stampin' Up!'s ongoing commitment to providing their customers and demonstrators with the highest quality products, SU simply cannot allow this product to go live. If you have additional questions about this matter, please EMAIL ME and I'd be happy to help! Or send me a message about your creative ways to store your punches! I'd love to hear about it and will post them on my blog!

The item numbers are no longer available, so you won't be able to place orders for any of the four different caddies Stampin' Up! was planning on offering! ALL of the punches, however, are available for purchase and you can CLICK HERE to place a Stampin' Up! order On-Line 24/7. My favorite of course is the Two-Step Owl Punch (item # 118074) for $16.95!

Hope you had a great weekend!

School Days Congrats Owl for the Stampin' Royalty

I'm so honored to have been asked to be a guest designer this week for the Stampin' Royalty! I love those girls ~ they are all just so sweet! So thankful we have Stampin' Up! in common! I've played along with many of their fun challenges and have a Top Pick several times, which just makes my day! This week they have a theme challenge: School Days. I hope you'll be able to join us and enter their challenge! Here's what I came up with:

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • The 'Congrats' sentiment is from the Fundamental Phrases Stamp Set on page 157 (114968). This set comes with {24} adorable sentiments perfect for every occasion! I stamped the 'Congrats' in Old Olive ink on Whisper White Card Stock.
  • I love owls! They are all the rave right now in the paper crafting world and the Stampin' Up! It's the Thought Level 1 Hostess Set on page 4 of the Summer Mini Catalog is so cute! The sentiment I thought was perfect for back to school themed projects since his little glasses remind me of a professor and the sentiment '...a little wiser' are perfect for back to school and learning!
  • I chose to use the Stampin' Up! colors Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze, Old Olive, and Night of Navy. Perfect primary school colors! If you haven't already purchased the RetroFit Color Kits to update your Stampin' Up! color collection, you can CLICK HERE to download the PDF and view the different kits for Markers, Ink Pads, and Card Stock! These are a great way to purchase just the NEW colors your need!
  • To add to the School Days theme, I stapled the 'Congrats' sentiment! I rarely staple on my projects - so I really hoped it would be in the right place the first time! Measure twice, staple once!!! To place an Order for Stampin' Up! On-Line 24/7, CLICK HERE!

Stamps: Fundamental Phrases (114968), It's the Thought (120027)
Ink: Old Olive (102277), Baja Breeze (111833), Jet Black StazOn (101406)
Card Stock: Riding Hood Red (111348), Baja Breeze (111352), Old Olive (100702), Night of Navy (100867), Whisper White (100730)

CQC #46 Hello Baby Card with Fox and Friends

Happy Tuesday to you! Thanks for joining me today! I just love the color combination this week at the Colour Q! It features several of my favorite Stampin' Up! colors: Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla! Isn't that little dress in the photo just adorable!?! With these colors, I inspired to make a little baby card! Here's what I came up with!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • My card layout is based upon this weeks Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge! This was such a great layout since it features three panels and circles - which worked perfectly for my baby card and the different animals!
  • The stamped images are from the Fox & Friends Stamp Set on page 96 of the Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog. This set features 7 adorable animals, and I chose to use the monkey (Cherry Cobbler), lion (Daffodil Delight), and turtle (Wild Wasabi).
  • The scallop circles layered behind the stamped images isn't one of our Scallop Circle punches, it's actually from the Scallop Circles #2 die (113469) - the smaller of the two Scallop Circles. I chose to use the die-cut Scallop Circle since it was just the perfect size to layer with the 1-3/4" Circle Punch (119850), since I just wanted the scallops to show behind the circle. Plus it fit perfectly with this card size - 3-1/4" x 6-1/2", scored at the top! Here's some additional pictures:
Hello Baby

Little Monkey and Lion

Little Turtle and Monkey

'Tent' card, scored at the top

Stampin' Up! Marvelous Marker Mania Monday

If you've been a blog reader or a follower you know that I'm a Stampin' Up! only girl and think their products are the best! I've recently posted about when Stampin' Up! products are highlighted in crafting magazines, such as Creating Keepsakes and Paper Crafts! Today I wanted to share with you another SU product featured in the September 2010 issue of Creating Keepsakes!
On page 24 of the magazine, they did a quick article on how to write and stamp on fabric using Stampin' Up! markers! The SU markers are perfect for techniques like this since they are Dual-Tipped and come in all the SU colors! CLICK HERE to place an order for Stampin' Up! On-Line!

You can order Stampin' Up! markers in a variety of ways! One is the Many Marvelous Markers set of 38 markers for $109.95 (item # 119806). This entire little carrying case includes all the Stampin' Up! markers in a horizontal storage case, which keeps the pens inked evenly and all in one place! Yes, this item is on my Wish List for Christmas!!!

Although Blush Blossom retired in June 2010, you can still purchase the Blush Blossom Marker for $3.50 (item # 100037). Since this color is perfect for coloring in flesh/skin tones, Stampin' Up! kept it in the products mix! You can also purchase any of the Stampin' Up! markers individually, as well if you just want a few! It's a great way to start your collection, although it is cheaper to purchase them in the Color Families for $28.95 each, which includes all 10 colors per collection. This way the markers are $2.89 each versus $3.50 individually!

Another great product I love is the Marker New Color Kit, which includes 13 markers in the new colors for $35.95 (item # 120948). This is a great way to update your marker collection with just the new colors that you need! For more RetroFit Kits in other Stampin' Up! products like ink pads and card stock, CLICK HERE to download the PDF flier! You can purchase these kits through June 2011.

Looking for a great White Marker? Stampin' Up! sells the uni-ball Signo Gel Pen for $3.95 (item # 105021) and it's on page 195 of the NEW Idea Book & Catalog! The smooth-rolling ink of this gel pen allows you to add text or creative touches on dark card stock. It's one of my favorites - and truly the best White Marker I've used!

If you have any questions about Stampin' Up!, products, placing an order On-Line, booking a Workshop and/or Catalog Party or becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, please EMAIL ME and I'd be happy to help answer your questions!

I'll be back tomorrow with another super cute Colour Q challenge that you won't want to miss!

Make it a Great Day!

Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge #15

Happy Thursday to you! We have another fun Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge for you this week! This challenge really reminded me of the first few weeks of school so I focused on a few of my favorite Primary Colors - Red, Green, and Blue! I hope you'll come out and join us this week and play along!
My friend Susan gave me some super cute DSP that was just perfect for this challenge so I used it this week (it's not SU paper - but I love it)! Here's what I came up with:

My card layout is based upon this week's Mojo Monday sketch! It seems likes its been weeks since I've played along with the Mojo challenge, but this week I really liked the layout and thought it worked well with the SCIC!
Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • I LOVE the New Apple Blossoms Level 2 Stamp set (120139)! It's so versatile and cute! It's probably one of my favorites from the New Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog! The images are adorable and the fonts of the sentiments are just SO cute! You can earn this set for FREE with a $300 workshop and/or catalog party! There's still time to book a workshop in August and earn $25 EXTRA Hostess Dollars! CLICK HERE to learn more!
  • My 'A Note of Thanks' sentiment is from the Thank You Kindly Stamp Set (111700) on page 158 of the SU Idea Book & Catalog! Catalogs cost $9.95 + $4.90 shipping and include a Definitevly Decorative Brochure, Wish List, Summer Mini Catalog, PLUS you'll be added to my mailing list and will receive all future Mini Catalogs this year! I always enjoy giving gifts to my customers, so you'll get a fun little gift from me too!
  • To create the large scallop border, I used the Fancy Flower Punch (118073). I punched out two flowers from the Baja Breeze card stock, then pieced them together to create a scallop! You can CLICK HERE to read my original blog post with a step-by-step tutorial of this technique!

CQC #45 - Flight of the Butterfly + BLOG CANDY

It's been awhile since I've done some Blog Candy, so I hope you participate and enter for your chance to earn a fun little gift from me!!!! Read below to learn more!!!

Happy Tuesday to you! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!!! I just love the simplicity of this photo with the butterflies in flight, so I used that as my inspiration for today's card! The Colour Q has an awesome color challenge for you this week of: Regal Rose, Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise, Early Espresso, and Whisper White! Here's my sample:

Stampin' Essentials Tips:

  • To dress up my Whisper White background, I added a second layer of Whisper White Card Stock and ran the smaller layer through my Big Shot (113439) with the Lattice Square Embossing Folder (119976)! I've always measured and cut my layers to the 1/4" - but now I'm really into the 1/8" size since I can add several other sheets of card stock to my card! The double layering of the same color is kinda new to me too - but I like it, kinda elegant!

Stampin' Up! featured in Creating Keepsakes

I've been a subscriber to Creating Keepsakes magazine for many years and I'm always so thrilled when they spotlight Stampin' Up! in their issues! I just received my September 2010 magazine and the fabulous Stampin' Up! Chalkboard Decor Elements are featured on page 55. I've had several customers order the NEW chalkboard Decor Elements and love them, so I'm very glad CK is highlighting these fabulous products as well! If you have questions about how to order these new Chalkboard Decor Elements, please EMAIL ME and I'd be happy to help! In the article CK showed step by step directions on how to apply the Curly Labels and Oval Labels, scroll down to learn more!

The Decorative Chalkboard Curly (118876) and Oval (121019) shapes make the perfect label for storage, books, crafting supplies and more! Apply them just as you would the traditional vinyl pieces. Write on labels with traditional chalk or chalk markers! Clean with ordinary chalkboard eraser or damp cloth. They're only $5.95 a package and totally adorable!

How to adhere vinyl chalkboard:
1) Carefully remove paper backing from vinyl.
2) Position vinyl on glass, container, or item you want label on with the vinyl side down, using the Applicator (114285) rub to secure and eliminate air bubbles.
3) Carefully remove second paper layer to reveal your vinyl image!

CLICK HERE to download the Definitively Decorative Brochure and shop for Vinyl Home Decor and other Chalkboard labels, signs, plagues, and more! I Love the little Owl (119646) on page 7 of the brochure! So cute!

Hope you decorate something cute with these new Chalkboard Decor Elements!
