Your friendship means the world to me.

Hello friends!!! Here's a card I made for the PPA Bird challenge! I was inspired by the top right picture, which looked to me like the Stampin' Up! colors Kiwi Kiss, Basic Gray and Whisper White! Shh, don't tell anyone, but I've never used this bird stamp from the Wings of Friendship Hostess Level 2 set! I've had this set for about 8 months and have used other images in the set but not the bird one! Hehe! Am I a nerd or what!?! Thought this bird themed challenge was the perfect time to use it!
I followed along with the sketch at Crazy for Challenges! Love this card layout with the row of embellishments down the right hand side! I chose to put Basic Gray Corduroy Buttons lined up there on my card!!!

Don't forget, there's {2} days left in the Stampin' Up! Haitian Relief fund raiser! Purchase your I {Heart} Hearts stamp set (in either Clear Mount OR Wood Mount) and make a difference! So far stampers have purchased about 10,000 sets - bringing Stampin' Up!'s donation to over $20,000! There's still time! PLEASE click here to start shopping and learn more about this amazing opportunity!
Want the set I used today for FREE? You can have it!!! Place any order of $300 or more through me and you'll get this set for FREE, plus all the SU Hostess Benefits, a FREE SAB set and an awesome gift from me, including this card! =) I love to spoil my customers with goodies! Sweet Pea baby card

Howdy stampers! Here's my take on Karen's Sweet Sunday sketch! Look at all those rows!! Hehe! I was a little scared to try my hand at this one, but I warmed up to it and I hope you like how my card turned out!!! ;)

My colors were inspired by The Color Throwdown and another beautiful color combination of: Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, and old Olive!!! I thought these would be perfect for a baby card and to use my new Fox & Friends Clear Mount stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog!!! The Sweet Stampin' Challenge blog posted a challenge of New Beginnings so I entered my new baby card in that challenge as well!!!
Stampin' Essentials Tips:

  • The Fox & Friends Stamp set comes in a set of 7, featuring some super cute little critters! I chose the giraffe and stamped him in Chocolate Chip Ink, then colored in the polka dots with Pretty Ink Pink ink using my blender pen! This set is on page 31 of the Occasions Mini catalog!
  • My Sweet Pea sentiment also comes from a stamp set in the Occasions Mini Catalog! The set is called Little Angel and features 4 super sweet sentiments perfect for baby cards, announcements, and scrapbook pages! My set is in the Clear Mount format and was only $9.95!!! What an awesome deal!
  • The rows of DSP were cut to 3-3/4" x 1" and matted on Chocolate Chip card stock. I inked the edges of all the papers in Chocolate Chip ink for a distressed look! These papers were also from the Occasions Mini Catalog! It's the Sweet Pea DSP STACK!! Comes with {48} sheets total: 2 each of 24 double-sided designs. 12" x 12"
  • My Old Olive strip of card stock down the center of my card was cut to 1-1/4" x 5-1/4" and ran through my Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder on page 35 of the Occasions Mini Catalog! Probably my favorite textured folder SU offers - love the dots plus the impression is deep and the folder can cover an entire card front!!!

Vintage Vogue friends

Hello friends! The Pink Elephant posted a great sketch challenge this week that I had to play along with! I love the different layers of this sketch!

I also made this card for a Friendship Challenge at the Cupcake Craft Challenge blog!!! The Stampin' Up! Vintage Vogue stamp set is just perfect for friendship themed cards I think!!! It's a beautiful set and one of the first ones I bought that were the new Clear Mount stamps! You can click here to learn more about these new, easy to use stamps!! I'm sure enjoying mine and I know you will too, PLUS they are cheaper than the Wood Mount, which is fantastic!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • The beautiful Designer Series Paper I used is the super cool blog candy I won from the Stampin' Royalty challenge blog! It's part of the Lovely Flowers Bundle Level 3 Hostess set on page 18 of the Idea Book and Catalog!
  • The colors in the papers were my inspiration for color choices: Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, and Melon Mambo!!!
  • I added a touch of bling to my card with the Circle Fire Rhinestone brads! These cuties come in three different sizes, and I loved parading them down the side of my card from largest to smallest! To line them up, I used my Paper-Piercing tool and Mat Pak template! Here's a hint on spacing: there are {3} holes from the large to medium brad, and {2} holes between the medium and small brad (on the template) - hopefully that makes sense!
  • To add some vintage to my papers and card stock, I inked the edges of every sheet of paper for a distressed look and dimension using my ink pads. I coordinated each color depending on the color of paper and/or card stock!
  • My friends stamp was first stamped in Old Olive ink, then again in Rich Razzleberry ink! I cut out just the 'F' from the Rich Razzleberry stamped image and adhered it on top the Old Olive image with Stampin' Dimensionals!!!

My color inspiration was another beauty from Stacey and her Curtain Call Color Challenge! The colors we were to use are: Night of Navy, Old Olive, Whisper White, Kraft, and Ballet Blue!

Here's a close up of the fun flower I made with Night of Navy and Old Olive DSP and the Scallop Circle Punch:

Stampin' Up! Asian Artistry With Sympathy card

The Taylored Expressions blog is posting this awesome card drive for a hospital in SD! They are looking for 'Thinking of you, Sympathy, or Praying for you cards' featuring a dragonfly on them. I made a 'With Sympathy' card using their sketch (pictured below) and also a dragonfly from the Stampin' Up! Asian Artistry Level 2 Hostess stamp set!
The Nouveau Chic DSP is so pretty! I love it's color combination of Basic Gray, Sage Shadow, Basic Black, Whisper White, and Apricot Appeal! To add a touch of color to my dragonfly, I first stamped him in Basic Gray, then colored in the wings and body with Sage Shadow ink! My sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and I thought the elegance of the font worked great with the beauty of the paper!

Stamps: Asian Artistry (114399 - Hostess Level 2)
Ink: Basic Gray (109129), Sage Shadow (102532)
Card Stock: Basic Gray (108692), Whisper White (100730), Sage Shadow (101563)
Paper: Nouveau Chic (115670)
Embellishments: 5/16" Neutrals Jumbo Brads (112534)

If you'd like more information on the card drive for the hospital, you can click here to read more! I'm so excited to be able to make a difference!
Hope you have a wonderful day! It's sunny and beautiful here in Oregon!

Ice Cream and Presents and Cake oh My!

Oh yes, it's another card sketch from the Sweet Stop but with a spin: Flowers! Finding flowers in my stamping studio is definitely NOT a problem!! Hehe!!! Love these little cuties! Flower Patterned paper, flower stamps, felt flowers, flower punches, flower brads, flower buttons, silk flowers, - it's ALL GOOD!
This was a fun sketch to follow and it just so happened that I had these {4} 2x2 square pieces of patterned paper laying around from some other projects - so it worked out perfectly! I layered the patterend DSP onto Pink Pirouette card stock, then Kiwi Kiss, then Baja Breeze, then Chocolate chip!
The sentiment comes from the Stampin' Up! Birthday Bliss stamp set on page 71 of the Idea Book & Catalog and can be earned for FREE during Sale-A-Bration! It has a different item code which is (120213). My felt flowers and buttons are retired and coordinate with the Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, and Pink Pirouette In Colors from 2009! Bummer, I know!!! But I still love them so much and hoard them in my stash!!! ;)

You're Never More Than a Thought Away.

My NEW Stampin' Up! Extra Large Two-Step Bird punch was on back order and finally arrived on Monday!!! Just in time for a new PPA challenge: KISS (Keep It Simple, Sweetie). This super quick and easy Thinking of You card was a breeze with my punch! What's so great about it is that the three images (the leaf/stem, bird, and wing) are all separate so they can be punched out in different colors! I coordinated them with the colors in my background paper: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, and Baja Breeze! The NEW Punch design totally beats the old SU punches! These are SO easy to use, have a larger cutting surface, and click to lock for space saving! I'm a huge fan already!!! Click on the link above if you'd like to find out more!

Happiness Always

Hi friends! Well I have to confess, I LOVE square card layouts!!! Here's another cutie from the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge and my take on the sketch! My color inspiration was from Stacey's Curtain Call to use: Going Gray, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, and Very Vanilla! Here's another confession: Going Gray is probably the least used Stampin' Up! color I use! I'm totally drawn to Basic Gray since it's dark - but I really enjoyed using the lighter Going Gray with the rich colors of the More Mustard and dark Chocolate Chip!

Stampin' Essentials Tips:
  • My card base was cut from Going Gray card stock to 5-1/4" x 10-1/2", then scored and folded at 5-1/4". My fold is at the top so that I could wrap my ribbon around the card! The Pink Elephant blog posted a challenge to use ribbon, and I used the Stampin' Up! Basic Gray Taffeta on mine!
  • Did you notice those super cute NEW Brads in the corner of my card!?! They are the Chocolate Chip 1/4" Sending Love Epoxy Brads! There's 16 brads total per container; 8 each of 2 designs! I used the Chocolate Chip & Vanilla flower ones on mine, but there's also stripes too!
  • The cute swirly DSP paper is a FREEBIE in the SAB brochure! It's from the Welcome Neighbor DSP pad! Contains {72} 6" x 6" sheets total: 3 each of 24 double-sided designs!
  • The flowers in the center circles is from the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set (111672) on page 97 of the SU Idea Book & Catalog! I stamped them in Chocolate Chip ink on the Very Vanilla card stock.
  • My 'Happiness Always' sentiment is another FREEBIE from the SAB brochure! It's from the Whimsical Words (118386) stamp set on page 8 of the brochure! You can get this FREE stamp set with a $50 order and in either the Wood Mount {W} or the Clear Mount {C}. You have a choice!!

Hello Friends! I have another card to share with you today! The card layout is from the Mojo Monday blog and I just loved playing along with this challenge! The scalloped edges on the top and bottom of the card, remind me of a store front awning or something!! • The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Well Scripted stamp set featured on page 19 of the NEW Occasions Mini Catalog! You can order from this catalog until April 30th!
  • The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is also retired and was found on page 23 of the Stampin' Up! Fall-Winter 2008 Idea Book & Catalog! It was part of the Holiday Happenings Bundle Level 3 Hostess gift! The colors are fabulous and included: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip & Pink Pirouette!

Technique Spotlight: Rock N Roll

Happy Saturday to you! LOVE this sketch posted at the Pals Paper Arts blog! I played along and used a fun stamping technique called Rock & Roll!
I also incorporated the color challenge at the Color Dare blog! These great colors included: Crushed Curry, Brilliant Blue, Kraft, and I substituted Old Olive for Kiwi Kiss. These colors are very striking together and masculine too!

Stampin Essentials Tips:

I think the Rock & Roll technique works best with a bold stamp such as the one from the Upsy Daisy set, which I used for my card! Another tip for getting the best results for this technique is to use a light and dark color ink - stamping the lighter color first! Okay, so I first stamped the image in Crushed Curry ink. Then, I rolled (lightly) just the edges of my stamp in Old Olive ink so that the tips of the flowers and edges have a touch of Old Olive! It's like making a circle motion! So fun!!! Then I stamped my sentiment, from the Trendy Trees set (on page 112) in Old Olive ink and added some more Old Olive to the edges of the Whisper White card stock!

i {heart} you, friend.

A fellow SU demo, Kris of Kween Bee Kreations, posted a super fun, NEW card sketch and color challenge! We used a great card layout and color combination featured in the Stampin' Up! demonstrator magazine, Stampin' Success! Getting this monthly inspiration is just one of the MANY benefits to being a demonstrator!

This great combination of purple and yellow reminds of the UW Huskies! I chose to use Elegant Eggplant (for my purple) and So Saffron (for my yellow) - both colors are in the Stampin' Up! Rich Regals color family! These colors are great together and I enjoyed making my card super simple! If you're looking for a quick and easy card, this one litterally took me less than 10 minutes! The new paper from the Sweet Paper Stack is just SO cute, that I just left it as is - a HUGE time saver!
I'm also super in love with my Boho Blossoms punch! I've been using it on EVERYTHING lately! Hehe! I also LOVE the new Scallop Trim Border punch - a freebie in the SAB brochure!
My sentiment comes from the Picture This Hostess Level 1 set in the Occasions Mini Catalog! Earn it free with a $150 workshop, personal order, or combine with friends' orders! I stamped it in Elegant Eggplant ink on Whisper White card stock, then punched it out with the Word Window Punch!

A Trio of Red and Kraft!

Hello friends! I wanted to share with you three cards I made using the awesome Clean & Simple card sketch! So quick and easy - I love it and with the swirls, it's just too much fun!!!

Stacey has another great color challenge at the Curtain Call! I REALLY wanted to use my Ruby Red DSP so I swaped out Real Red for Ruby Red! Kraft card stock really works great with all kinds of colors! I used Sahara Sand classic ink for a tone on tone look with my swirls in the corner!

There's still plenty of time to earn free stamps during the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration (SAB) promotion! For more information, click here! My 'thanks' sentiment (card #3) came from the Thank You Kindly stamp set (120248) one of the 80 additional catalog sets you can earn for free during Sale-A-Bration. These extra stamp sets are listed on page 11 of the brochure!
