Final Day of the Online Extravaganza!!!

Today is the last day of the Stampin' Up! Online Extravaganza! Save big with products temporarily discounted up to 50%! This year's Holiday Mini catalog is the best! Today's card is made using the Berry Christmas set on page 20-21 of the mini! It's a beautiful, festive Two-Step Stampin' set of 8 stamps for $22.95! Of course what is better than coordinating products? Well this awesome set is paired with the Petals-a-Plenty Textured Impressions Folder (featured on this card), the Merry Details Sizzlit die, the Merry Embosslits and the Christmas Cocoa Specialty Designer Series Paper! I love the color combination of the card (Old Olive & Ruby Red) and it's simplicty!
Tip: The glitter really makes this card 'pop' and is subtle way of adding 'bling' to any project! Stamping the Poinsettia a second time in the the VersaMark Pad (pg. 190) is how the Red Glitter is adhered to the card stock! The VersaMark pad is super sticky since it's a pigment ink! Simply stamp your image, pour on some glitter, turn the card stock over and tap to remove excess glitter, and viola! The glitter should be just where you want it! Any stray specks of glitter can be wiped away!
Tip: To create our 'flower pot' simply punch out a square using the 1-3/8" Square Punch, then trim a narrow, pie slice piece of card stock off diagonally and repeat on both sides!

This great stamp set is perfect for the Christmas Card Making season! All the fabulous products in the Holiday Mini Catalog are only available till January 4, 2010!

MoJo114 Card Sketch - Happy Thanksgiving Card

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I love this season of gratitude and thankfulness and I hope you have a wonderful day with friends and family! I made this quick and simple Thanksgiving card based upon the Mojo Monday Sketch featured below! You can also click on the link and play along too if you'd like! I had so much fun this fall season creating leaves with my Big Shot Die-Cut Machine! Plus I think I used the Autumn Traditions DSP on almost every card since the colors were great and the patterns were just too cute! If the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine is on your 'Wish List' for Christmas, Stampin' Up! is offering a FABULOUS Gift Pack special on the machine and lots of necessities to help you get started! If you'd like more information on everything that is included in that great deal, please click on the link above - or the picture on the right hand side of my blog! If you're looking for more card ideas or product information, you can search under 'Labels' on the left hand side of my blog to see projects made with a variety of different Stampin' Up! stamp sets, DSP paper, themes, tools or techniques, if there's something particular you're looking for!
The Falling Leaves stamp set on page 27 of the Idea Book & Catalog is one of my favorite fall sets that I have! I love the different leaves and the sentiments are simple and perfect for the cards I
created this season! Plus it has a coordinating jumbo wheel, Bright Blessings that is filled with awesome fonts and sentiments for the season! Tip: To achieve a clear, crisp stamped sentiment on my card, I stamped the 'Happy Thanksgiving, Happy Fall, Happy Blessings to one and all' in the Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad! I'm really happy with the result since those letters are tiny but they are clearly seen on my card!

It's a Level 1 Hostess set and can be earned for FREE with either a workshop or personal order of $150 or more! Please email me if you'd like to place an order and I can help you get the best deal!
Tip: To get my brads perfectly lined up in a row, I used my Mat Pack (pg. 191) paper-piercing template and pad! The template is perfect for lining up holes perfectly!

Clean & Simple: Thanks card

Oh my goodness, I LOVE card sketches! Designing is so fun when there's a sketch to follow - but having a sketch AND a color challenge is way too fun! My card today features the card sketch posted at Fall-to-Layout blog and the color challenge is from Our Creative Corner! The color challenges uses the Stampin' Up! colors: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White! I chose to use Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and improvise and use Really Rust! The Stampin' Up! Level One Hostess gift has the Patterns Pack DSP III with this totally cute patterned paper - so I wanted to use this paper! The sketch I followed was clean and simple, so my card is a quick and easy card that can totally be created in 10 minutes or less!
Covering the flap of the envelope is a fun way to dress up a typically plain white envelope! I had a few scraps of the matching Really Rust DSP around so I pieced those together and covered the envelope! The trick is to cut pieces that are about 6" long by 3" wide, adhere them to the flap, turn them over, and trim around the edge! Super quick and easy!

What I love about this sketch is the row of three flowers! Tip: My white flowers each have a Chocolate Chip Corduroy button in the center! The Stampin' Up! Corduroy Buttons are a beautiful way to add texture and dimension to your projects! They are 100% cotton and each container comes with 24 pieces: 8 each of 3 styles!!! These buttons are part of a bundle on sale during the Online Extravaganza!

PPA17 ~ Card Sketch: Peace on Earth Card

Happy Monday! There's a ton of exciting news in the Stampin' Up! world - the On-Line Holiday Extravaganza started today! HUGE sales and savings on some amazing stamping and paper crafting products! Brads, Punches, even stamp sets are on sale for 30% - 50% off! How exciting is that!?! One of the cool products on sale, are the Corduroy Brads Bundle (page 181 of the Idea Book Catalog)! Stampin' Up! is selling all {5} containers of brads for a discounted price of only $24.88. That includes 120 brads in Chocolate Chip (which are featurd on my card above), Kraft, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun and Basic Gray! I used these sweet brads on my card for the Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge pictured below!

This was a fun, simple card sketch that I really enjoyed creating with! My snowflakes were cut out from the Snowflakes Set #2 Sizzlits 4-Pack dies. This little set comes with 4 different snowflake shapes and I cut all four out of Whisper White Card stock and adhered them to squares punched out of Textured Card Stock to follow the sketch! My sentiment is from the Four the Holidays stamp set on page 19 of the Holiday Mini Catalog! I stamped it in Chocolate Chip ink, then cut out the { } shapes from the Billboard alphabet die set (pg. 196)!

So Much to be Grateful for...

In this wonderful season of being thankful, we have so much to be grateful for! I'm very grateful
for my family, friends, church, and of course all that the Lord Jesus has done for me! There's nothing better than knowing that heaven awaits us and spending eternity with our Saviour! I hope and pray that you are counting your blessings and all the wonderful things and people in your life!
My favorite part about this card, is how all the punches coordinate and fit with each other! I started with the Scallop Oval punch, then the Large Oval Punch fits perfectly inside the scallop for a fun layered look! Then the Modern Label punch holds the Worder Window punch perfectly!
Using several fall colors was a great way to celebrate this season! I randomly stamped the images from the Falling Leaves stamp set (pg. 27) on Whisper White card stock. Tip: Stamping some of the images 'off the page' give it a continuous, flowing look.
Stamps: Falling Leaves (115368)
Ink: Dusty Durango (115654), Rich Razzleberry (115658), Old Olive (102277), More Mustard (103162)

MOJO113 ~ Happy Thanksgiving Card

Can you believe Thanksgiving is in one week? Oh my goodness, I can't believe how fast this year has flown by! My Thanksgiving plans are to head home up to Washington to spend time with my parents and family! I'm so looking forward to mashed potatoes and turkey! So for the big day, I created this card based upon the MOJO Monday Sketch pictured below!
I followed the sketch using Stampin' Up!'s Autumn Traditionals DSP (pg. 115668) and the Falling Leaves Stamp Set (pg. 27). I love that paper and of course the leaves are so festive and fun! Tip: I used the reverse side of the Soft Suede 1/2" ribbon so that the polk-dot side was 'hidden'.

Sketch Saturday #77 - Merry Christmas Card

I found this wonderful blog, Sketch Saturday that posts some fabulous sketches and challenges on their site! I followed the card sketch featured below on my square, Merry Christmas card! The Dasher stamp is only $8.95 and found on page 208 of the Idea Book & Catalog on the under $10 page. It was a perfect fit inside my die-cut scallop circle!
My card is 5-1/4" square and Stampin' Up! offers the perfect envelopes to send this card for the holidays, Medium Square Whisper White envelopes! They are 5-1/2" square and come in a pack of {20} envelopes for $6.50, another great deal!
What would I do without my circle punches!?! Oh boy, yes I do have EVERY circle punch Stampin' Up! offers, which worked perfectly with this sketch layout! Since my Dasher stamp was the focal point, I added the Merry Moments Designer Series Paper as a simple way to decorate my card!

CTD68 - Color Challenge: Thank You Card!

The Color Throwdown blog posted this awesome color challenge using the Stampin' Up! colors: Real Red, Only Orange, Crushed Curry, and a dark neutral color. For my card, I chose to use Basic Black as my dark neutral and follow the layout of a great sketch! Being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator definitely has amazing benefits! One of which is receiving the monthly Stampin' Success magazine in my mailbox, filled with ideas, information, new techniques, and of course great sketches! I used the one, featured below which was found on page 30 of the November 2009 issue! At first glance, I thought the layout was a little busy - but with the bright colors from the color challenge, I thought they would work well together! What do you think? I always love reading your comments and feedback - so please leave a message if you want!!
I moved things around a little bit from the sketch, but overall, I tried to stick with where things were on the original card layout! The most fun I had was using the Very Thankful stamp set (page 209)! Stampin' Up! designs an exclusive stamp set every year to help raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). When you purchase the Very Thankful set, (it's only $14.95 - and totally cute) Stampin' Up! will donate $2 to the RMHC! I love making a difference and purchasing this stamp set, was a fun way to do that! Plus, the bird and font of the sentiment on this stamp are so elegant - I love it! I stamped the little birdie with Real Red ink on Whisper White card stock, then punched it out using a 1-3/4" Circle Punch! Layered it on a Basic Black scallop Circle cut from the Scallop Circles #2 die for my Big Shot machine, and viola!

PPA16 ~ Theme Challenge: Christmas Cheer

The Pals Paper Arts posted a very festive and fun theme challenge: Christmas Cheer! I thought creating a tag, gift box, and mini card would be a great way to celebrate the Christmas season in style!!
My 3" square card was made using Garden Green card stock as the card base, cut to 6" long x 3" wide, scored, and folded in half to create the 3" square card! Then I cut a 2-3/4" square piece of paper from the Merry Moments DSP (pg. 160). Using my Big Shot Die-Cut machine and the Lots of Tags die (pg. 197) I cut out the scallop tag and stamped 'merry & bright' in Chocolate Chip Classic ink using the Merriment stamp (pg. 208). Then I added a red button and Chocolate Chip 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon to embellish and a little dove in the bottom corner cut from the Merry Details die! Tip: Just for fun, I lined up his eye over one of the dots in the paper and glued him down, so it looks like he has a little eyeball!
Click here to Shop online now!
Stamps: Fundamental Phrases (114968)
Ink: Chocolate Chip (100908)
Card stock: Garden Green (102584), Very Vanilla (101650)
Accessories: Playground Designer Buttons (116313), Chocolate Chip 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon(111367)
Tools: Big Shot (113439), Lots of Tags (114508)
Essentials: Mini Square Envelopes (107309), Mini Glue Dots (103683, for adhering my button)
My 'merry' tag was cut out of Real Red card stock using the Merry Embosslits folder from the Holiday Mini Catalog. Then I cut out some Christmas trees in Old Olive and Very Vanilla card stock using the Merry Details Sizzlits die and layered them on the tag. After the tag is cut out, there is a hole at the top which is perfect for tying my Very Vanilla 1/4" Grosgrain ribbon through!

My gift box is cut out of Old Olive card stock and it's super quick and easy to make! Add the perfect touch to give as a gift by adding some candy or small gift inside the box!
Here's how you make it:
1) Score an 8-1/2" piece of card stock vertically at 2", 4", 6", and 8". Then, score horizontally at 2" from the bottom edge. Cut to horizontal scored line along vertical scored lines. Cut off 1/2" x 2" notch at end of card stock to make folding easier.
2) Decorate front of box. This is typically the section between the 6" and 8" scored lines. I added a piece of Merry Moments DSP to mine!
3) Fold box, and adhere using Sticky Strip.
Tip: Your card stock should be 8-1/2" wide, but you can use any height - since this will determine how tall your box is! Mine is about 4" tall!

SASSC40 Sketch Challenge: Merry & Bright

Oh yes, another wonderful sketch to help get the creativity flowing! Our Creative Corner posted this card sketch challenge on their blog and I had just the perfect idea of the Stampin' Up! supplies I wanted to use! The Merry Moments DSP (pg. 160) is the cutest double-sided paper! It contains the colors: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Old Olive, Garden Green, and Very Vanilla, which became the colors I used for my card. I love the Designer Series paper for that reason, they do the color designing and choices for you! A great time saver! The fun part for me was choosing which sheet of paper to use! To follow the sketch, I knew I wanted to die-cut some snowflakes, so I chose a piece of paper covered in snowflakes! Then I layered two snowflakes together, one cut out of Old Olve card stock, and one cut out of Very Vanilla card stock! The Corduroy Buttons (pg. 181) add texture with a soft look and feel, which I think goes great with snowflakes! My card base was cut at 4-1/4" out of Real Red card stock, scored and folded at the 'top'. Tip: I prefer this layout when I'm tying ribbon around a card since it's easier than cutting a spot for the ribbon to tie through!

Here's a peak at the great supplies I used for this card! The Merry Moments Designer Series paper is on page 160 of the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalog! The Merry Details die is featured on page 21 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Clean & Simple: Thanks

It's Friday and my friend Kate's 30th birthday! We're going to celebrate tonight with a get together at our friend Amy's house, so I'm looking forward to that! In the meantime, I created this super quick and easy thank you card that would be perfect for sending during or after the Holidays to those that have given you gifts or to a special hostess! This whole week I've made projects using the Holiday Lounge DSP, so hopefully you now have some great ideas on how to use this beautiful paper in several of different ways! The card I made today literally took less than 10 minutes, which I love! My Big Shot Die-Cut machine and the Thanks Embosslits die were the star of the show!

Be Merry Christmas Page Corner Bookmark

Here's another fun & easy project using the Stampin' Up! Holiday Lounge Designer Series paper: it's a page corner bookmark! Perfect for a stocking stuffer or gift for a friend!

Here's how you make it:
1) Cut a 6" or 8" square out of a piece of cardstock or Designer Series paper (I chose to cut a 8" square out of Taken with Teal Cardstock to create a 4" bookmark
2) Score and fold your square in half once vertically and once horizontally to divide it into fourths
3) Cut away on-fourth of the paper (see picture below)

4) Fold the two remaining 'arms' down and adhere them together creating a pocket that will fit over the corner of a page
5) Decorate your corner bookmark using stamped accents or any accessories you want!

To decorate my bookmark, I chose to cut a 3-3/4" square piece of Holiday Lounge DSP to layer on top of the Taken with Teal card stock, then I made my star ornament for the focal point in the center!

Here's how I made it:
1) Cut a 3" square out of Ruby Red card stock
2) Using the 5-Petal Flower Punch, punch out the flower in the center of the square (see picture below)

3) Then I punched the flower out again, but rotated the punch to get in-between the petals (see picture below)

Here's out it comes out!

4) Then I layered a piece of Holday Lounge DSP behind the star to and stamped the corner with the Patterned Pines set from the Holiday Mini Catalog! I didn't add extra embellishments such as buttons or ribbon since I wanted my bookmark to lay flat in my bible!
Here's what it looks like:
