Featured Stamper: My Downline Melissa

My friend and downline, Melissa Mattox, a Senior Associate from Vancouver, WA made this cute card for a swap we had at a BZB demonstrator meeting! I love the color combination of: Summer Sun, Whisper White, Old Olive, and Basic Gray! The assortment of circles in the Circle Circus set makes for stamping the center very stylish and sophisticated!
Of course I'd love to have YOU join my Stampin' Essentials team! Stampin' Up! is the best company to work with and take amazing care of their demonstrators! I've been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator since February of 2004. I signed up during Sale-a-Bration of course to earn more FREE stamps! I initially just wanted a discount on everything in the catalog, but now I love having a business opportunity with great benefits! Including free stamps, but along the way I've made wonderful friends including members of my downline, upline, sidelines, customers and fellowing stampers on and offline! I'm so excited about the new Clear Mount stamps that will be available January 5, 2010. It's just one of the many ways Stampin' Up! listens and responds to the needs of their demonstrators and customers! I'd love to share my love of stamping with you either in a home workshop, class or having you a part of my growing downline! For more information on becoming a SU demo, please click here! It's a Stretch....thank you!

This card reminds that Easter will be here before we know it! Hehe! I'm having a great time relaxing and hanging out with my family! It's very cold up here, but there is no snow yet, but it's very cold! We've been making cookies, apple cake, apple sauce, and all sorts of gluten-free goodies! My parent's have several apple trees in their front yard, so my mom looks forward to finding 'new' desserts and goodies to try to use up all the apples! It's fun! We watched 'State of Play' this afternoon and finished Season 5 of '24'. Hopefully tomorrow we'll catch the Seahawks game and I'll have time to brainstorm some card layouts for upcoming challenges! I'm looking forward to getting back into my regular crafting routine! Hope you're having a wonderful Saturday! Stampin' Up! Thoroughly Modern Happy Birthday!

The Bitty Birthday stamp set on page 68 of the Idea Book & Catalog is pretty cute! I can't believe it's only $12.95! What a deal! What's even better than that is you can earn it for FREE starting January 5, 2010 during Stampin' Up!'s Sale-A-Bration promotion! Instead of having {6} items to choose from with every $50 purchase, Stampin' Up! has given us the option to choose additional stamp sets in the Idea Book & Catalog to get for free in addition to the fabulous items in the SAB brochure! More details to come in later posts, but this will certainly be one of the best SAB's EVER! I've seen both the new Occasions Mini Catalog and the SAB brochure and both are incredible! Today's card was made by a very talented, fellow member of the BZB demonstrator group, Paulette Fryar! She's a very crafty girl and I love all her cards and projects!
The card base is cut from Bermuda Bay card stock, then embossed using the Big Shot Die-Cut machine and the Texturz Plates Kit #4 (featured below)...... Texturz Plates measure 8" x 5-7/8" and create subtle patterns and designs on card stock, giving your project a delicate embossed background. The Kit #4 comes in a set of {3} double-sided plates - which is 6 unique and exciting embossed options. Tip: You'll want to use these with the Impressions Pad, and the Silicone Rubber Pad (sold individually).

Three in One....a challenge Monday!

It seems like it's been weeks since I've been able to play along with the online challenges! I've missed the last two MoJo Monday sketches, but this week I DID IT! Yippee! This week at the Mojo Monday Blog, I made a card based upon the sketch below! I love that it's simple and can easily be used for a Christmas card or for ANY occasion!
So my color choices came from the Color Throwdown blog and their color challenge #73! I haven't played along with their color challenges in a few weeks so I was thrilled to join in on all the fun they have! This week's challenge was to use: Kiwi Kiss, Real Red, Always Artichoke, and Cool Caribbean and since I didn't have a few of the colors, I 'cheated' just a little bit!! I substituted Old Olive for Kiwi Kiss and Garden Green for Always Artichoke!
My winter/Christmas theme came from the Snow or Snowflake challenge posted on the Our Creative Corner blog! Christmas is only a few days away, so I hope you enjoy this joyous holiday season!
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370)
Ink: Real Red (103133)
Card Stock: Old Olive (100702), Chocolate Chip (102128), Real Red (102482), Very Vanilla (101650), Garden Green (102584)
Paper: Merry Moments (115672)
Embellishments: Real Red 3/4" Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon (115608), Linen Thread (104199), Button Latte Designer Buttons (114333), 5/8" Neutrals Jumbo Brads (112533)
